Expecting for the first time is a multi-faceted experience for me. Feelings of awe, responsibility, fear, excitement and wonder
wash over me as the nine-month waiting period quickly unfolds. Not surprisingly, I have already encountered these same
feelings during my spiritual journey with Godde. 

Being the husband in this grand scheme of things places me in a unique situation as both participant and spectator at the same
time. Like Moses before the burning bush, I am struck by the overwhelming mystery of nature and Godde uniting into one
creative force. My wife Carlene has the privilege of experiencing this power within her. My experience seems minor in
comparison.

Encountering Godde in this pregnancy happens in two ways for me. First, I see the power of Godde's creativity and
presence in the incredible "transfiguration" of my wife's body. The dramatic change in Jesus'; appearance on
Mount Tabor is reflected just as surely, but more slowly, in my wife's appearance. In both transfigurations the power
of Godde's presence is truly dazzling!

Second, Godde's presence is noticed throughout the day at work or at play when I remember Carlene and our child
growing within her. The fact that these two souls are so connected to me is surely a blessing from Godde I cannot deny. Both
of them are incarnations in my life of the same Godde who walked and lived among us 2000 years ago. 

Like all encounters with Godde throughout the course of my life, I have learned that my primary task is to pay attention and
"stay awake" in a spiritual sense. I know not the day or the hour when the incarnate Godde will visit again in a new and
exciting way.
