[Joel & Billy start the New Year off with a bang.]
"Pass my glass to me please," Billy said to Benji as he leaned forward, taking the wine glass from his friend who handed it to him. Filling the glass halfway was Sparkling White Grape Juice. "Skittles." He held his hand out & was given a small "Fun Size" pack of Skittles. "Thank you."
The guys of Good Charlotte were currently lounging around the living room of Joel's new house, separate from Benji's incase the two ended up in a fight that drove them apart from each other for a while. Benji was on the loveseat, uncomfortably, with Paul while Chris got a recliner to himself & Joel sat on the couch next to Billy. This was the first New Years in Joel's house & since Joel had wanted it to be a special one, the only thing he could think to do was to bring his truest friends over for a get together.
Each had done their little part in making the house look festive. Joel had strung up streamers, Paul had strewn about different kinds of multiple colored confetti, Benji & Billy had brought over an equal share of Sparkling White Grape Juice & Skittles, Tropical & Regular, to tide the guys through the party night, & Chris had gone out & bought some wine glasses, then gone to Blockbuster to gather up some DVDs which had all been watched by now. But it was okay because this was their night to lay back & have fun.
"New Years Resolutions you guys, what'll they be this time?" Billy asked, looking around at all of his friends.
"I wanna find the perfect girl for me," Benji said, raising his wine glass of Sparkling White Grape Juice. "One that won't use me for my money, cheat on me, then try to leave me while I'm leaving her after I catch her in bed with another man." With those words, he leaned forward, closer to the table where all the furniture had been pushed.
"I want to find someone good for me that won't try to drag me down into a bunch of bad shit," Joel said, doing the same as his brother, raising his glass & leaning forward.
"Hell, I want my dad to quit being an ass," Billy said. "And I would like to find someone that I consider good for me." With that, he too leaned forward, holding up his glass.
"I want to avoid as much trouble as I can. And stay out of jail like I've managed to do," Paul said, joining his friends.
"I think I'm going to try to quit being as quiet as I normally am. Maybe show my wild side a little more," Chris said, joining the other guys as well.
"To having a great New Year & keeping to our resolutions!" All five guys said at the same time, clinking their glasses together, splashing a little bit of the Sparkling White Grape Juice & laughing about it.
After the little toast, all five guys leaned back into their seats & put the Skittles packs into the glasses. The guys watched as the mix of Skittles & Sparkling White Grape Juice, made little streams of bubbles come from each Skittle, before the juice slowly turned colors until it took the color of whatever the mixture of different Skittles produced.
"Hey Joel, during the tour you showed us where the bathroom is & with how big this place is, if you just tell me I'll get lost. Not to sound like a baby, but you come with me to show me?"
Joel gave a small laugh & set his drink on the table as he got up from his spot on the couch as Billy did the same two things. "Yea sure, we got a little while longer until it�s midnight," he said as he walked with Billy to the stairs. As the two walked up the stairs, Joel kept his eyes down so he wouldn't trip & end up falling into Billy. That could end with both of them getting hurt with a fall down the stairs & that was something Joel didn't want to happen.
"You really found a nice place here," Billy said as they go to the top of the stairs. When Joel walked in front of him after reaching the top of the stairs after him, he followed him to the bathroom.
Once there, Joel walked in & went to the other side of the large bathroom, turning on the lights for Billy. "Thanks Billy," he said with a smile.
"Hey Joel? I don't wanna sound weird here, but I know I will... Um, I don't really have to use the bathroom. I kind of just wanted to talk to you in private for a few seconds."
"Um, okay... What is it you wanted to talk to me about?" Joel asked, leaning against the wall, by the lights, as Billy shut the door.
"Joel, when you said you were looking for someone that won't try to drag you into a bunch of bad shit, I noticed your knee came over a little bit against mine... Was I imagining it, or did you just do that to get comfy? I'm just curious..."
Joel smiled a little & pushed away from the wall, walking up to Billy. "If it was a hint, then what?"
"Then um, I don't know..."
"Well, are you that way?"
"I'm bicurious if that's the way you're talking about... But if not then please just ignore that statement & try not to hate me too much."
Joel chuckled softly & slid his arms around Billy's slim waist, pulling the younger man closer to him until their upper torsos were pressing against each other. "That is the way I was talking about," he said, looking into Billy's blue eyes as he licked his lips. "And I was hinting at you Billy... You're the perfect kind of person for me. You do no wrong, you're basically an innocent little angel, we relate on so many levels... Tell me that doesn't sound good to you & that you don't want this, & I'll back away & not bother you unless you come onto me first."
"Seems like we're moving a little fast here though..."
Joel gave a small teasing smile. "Billy, even you know that moving fast is good sometimes," he said, rubbing his hands up Billy's back, next to the spine.
"Yea, I guess that is kind of true," Billy said before Joel's watch went off, letting them know it was midnight, & he found Joel's soft lips being pressed against his own in a soft kiss. He was slow to return the kiss, but when he did, Joel kept it at a soft, sweet level. It wasn�t anything too hard, or sexual just yet, but just right for now. When the watch stopped beeping, Joel pulled away & opened his eyes, looking at Billy, who was opening his eyes as well.
"Happy New Year," Joel whispered, making Billy realize he was still in Joel's arms & that he had wrapped his own arms around Joel's waist.
"Happy New Year," Billy replied. "So, does this mean you've found your somebody?"
"If he'll have me," Joel said with a wink as he kissed Billy again & found no resistance as Billy kissed back.
