I was sent word from a young woman
in a village a few days walk from the
temple. She says that she took bed
with you two years ago and bore a
child from the union. Though she did
not say what the child was, she did
say that she took so long to write you
and let you know because her family
has been stopping her. They were
away on trade with another village
when she wrote and mentioned that
the family might be back home by the
time I get a letter to you. She felt
you should at least know of your child
and that is why she wrote to tell you.
Although she said not to see her, I
myself believe you should come home
and go to see her village to see her
and your child. But what you do is
your choice. I just hope you make
the right choice.
Your Friend and Caretaker,
Mushin
Miroku stared at the letter in his hand before it dropped to the ground when he let go of it, shock coursing through his body as his eyes clouded over. The others around him watched this before Kagome picked up the letter & read over it, gasping. She handed it to Sango who asked to see it.
Child? I have a child? He thought to himself as the others who had read the letter now stared at him, wondering if he would be okay.
"Miroku?" Kagome spoke, snapping her fingers in front of his face. "Are you going to listen to Mushin & go home?" She asked when he looked at her, his eyes slightly wide from the shock he was still in.
"I don't know," he answered with a voice that was barely above a whisper. "I don't think I should, but if Mushin says I should, then maybe..."
"If you do go, do you want us to follow or stay here?" Shippo asked, hopping onto Kagome's shoulder. Miroku shrugged & walked back to the village where they were currently staying, the others staying behind, watching him fade from their vision as he slipped through some huts. Is he going to be okay, Kagome? The Kitsune asked.
