Kowaku opened her eyes to see Sesshomaru staring at her with hooded eyes. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked, stifling a yawn as she rose to a sitting position. She wanted to lay back down & fall asleep since up in the God Lands, she only got a five minutes, mortal time, break every 3 months, mortal time. Last night was the first long sleep she had ever had.
"Who sent you to seduce me?" He questioned, his voice monotone.
"What?" She rose to her feet & stretched, groaning softly as her back cracked slightly. Gods, being semi mortal feels good... She thought. I get to sleep as long as my body will allow...
"I said, who sent you to seduce me." This time his voice held a hint of annoyance as he rose to his feet, pulling his hakama & other clothing pieces on. His eyes never left her. "Well?"
"No one sent me to seduce you Sesshomaru," she answered, pulling on her kimono. "I merely needed to relax & you just happened to be here."
"And how were you able to mask yourself from me? You are nothing but a lowly hanyou, you should not be able to do so."
"But I did manage to, did I not?" She retorted with a cocky smile that she could tell made him a little more angry.
Kowaku, do not make him too angry, warned a voice in her mind that she recognized as her mother's. Down in the mortal lands, even in that form, you do not have your full healing powers. One harsh blow from him & you could very well be killed.
She frowned, hating the feeling of being almost completely helpless around this great demon. "It is a strength I gain from my father, despite the fact of being a hanyou."
"Your answer sounds false, but for now it will have to do. But to be safe, I am taking you with me back to my home to keep eye on you & make sure you do not become with child." Sesshomaru's voice was once again monotone as he looked at the woman before him. "I would not want to run the risk of you surviving to birth a child with any human blood in it."
Kowaku bit her lip as she let her mind wander, trying to find a way to avoid this type of unneeded situation. I need to find a way to get away from him. I was sent here to bare his child, not be killed because I might have conceived, she thought. "But why would you want to kill me? You could easily kill the child itself." Although the child would be full demon & would have no human blood what-so-fucking-ever!
"And run the even greater risk of having you talk all over about how you paired with the great demon, Lord Sesshomaru? I would rather ensure the safety of my title."
They sent me here to become with child, not to be his mate... They didn't say I had to stick around after I conceived... But have I conceived? He himself doesn't even know yet so how do I find out? I can't contact the God Lands to ask the soul keeper if a soul was sent to my body, & Sesshomaru doesn't know so I can't ask him. Dammit I'm screwed... The only way to find anything out is to have him kill me so I can go home. But doing this would kill the child as well & the soul would separate from my body if I am indeed with child.
Kowaku was snapped from her thoughts as Sesshomaru wrapped his tail around her in a crushing hold, keeping her from running. She looked at him, holding back the urge to snap him into nonexistence. There was nothing she could do that wouldn't give her away so until she found out that she was indeed pregnant, she would have to control herself.
"Since I do not know what you are capable of yet, I will just have to keep you like this until I have you bound properly at my home," he spoke, leading her to the pack animal since it was where he would find Rin & Jaken. "You are not to speak a word to the human child about what happened between us. Nor do you say anything to the imp demon."
Jaken & Rin... She thought as she walked with his lead. Perhaps I could get to work on the other half of the assignment at the same time... When they came to a clearing, she saw the human child, Rin, sitting on the pack animal's back. When she looked up & saw Sesshomaru, she slid down & ran to him, hugging his leg tightly.
"Lord Sesshomaru, Master Jaken & Rin were worried about you!" Rin shouted, squeezing his leg with the force to cut off blood circulation to the rest of his leg. "Rin thought you got into a fight with another demon & you were wounded badly!"
"No, Rin. I merely spent the night with this abandoned woman since she offered me a warm meal."
"Rin is so happy Lord Sesshomaru is okay," the little girl smiled.
"Jaken, did Rin give you any trouble?" Sesshomaru asked, looking at the imp, who was looking at the hanyou behind him with a non-so-thrilled look.
"No, my Lord," he answered, looking up at his master. "She did not give me any trouble at all. My Lord, who is this woman?"
"Her name is Aiji. She is a dog hanyou such as my shameful brother. I came across her at the springs & she offered me a warm meal so I took her up on her offer, merely because it would have been rude."
Jaken gave the woman another dirty glance & looked at his master. "Where are we heading off to now Lord Sesshomaru? Are we going back to the mansion?"
"Yes, Jaken, we are going back to the mansion. Once there, we need to make sure that Aiji is properly bound to something so that she cannot leave us."
