"Who are you to help that brat?!" Inu Yasha demanded as he hit Nashori with the back of his hand, making her cry out in pain. "If he was hurt then you should have let him deal with the pain!"
"He is still a child Inu Yasha," Nashori whimpered, backing away from the angry hanyou that seemed as though he could kill her at the moment. "He could die if the break should get infected. How could you live with the death or your own child on your hands?"
"Easily."
"You could live with knowing that you were the cause of your own son's death by not helping him start to heal?"
"I don't want the brat! What do I have to do to get that through your thick skull?!" He advanced at her, knocking her to the ground & straddling her, holding her wrists to the ground with his hands.
"If you don't want him, then let someone else take care of him until he can take care of himself!" She cried, looking at her wrist that was now bleeding since his nails were digging into her flesh. "Inu yasha get off of me, you're hurting me," she begged, trying to get out from underneath the hanyou.
"You think I care if I hurt you? You're nothing to me. Just like the brat," he growled as he slapped her, his nails raking across her face, before he got off of her, walking away.
She curled into a ball where she was left to lay, too afraid to move from her spot. As her body shook from her tears, she heard the sound of approaching footsteps & she whimpered, shaking more.
"Nashori, are you alright?" Sango asked as she knelt by the girl, putting her hand on her shoulder. "Nashori."
"Please Sango, just go away," Nashori whimpered, sniffling as she wipwed away her tears & looked at Sango, whose brow furrowed when she laid her eyes on the four scratches on Nashori's face.
"Nashori, come with me back to my hut. I'll take care of the scratches until they can heal on their own..."
Nashori sniffled & stared at her for a moment before she stood up & walked with Sango to the hut, letting her tears fall silently as they walked. On the way to the hut, they passed by Reikon Hakaisha who stared at the scratches, his eyes showing a feeling of pity. She gave him a sad smile before she turned & faced forward, walking into Sango's hut once they were there. "Sango, do you think I did the right thing by getting Kaede to help me fix his arm up?" Nashori asked, looking at Sango.
Sango looked at the scared girl that now sat on the futon on the floor & frowned. "I think you did the right thing Nashori... Even I know what damage a broken bone can do if it isn't properly cared for. But Inu Yasha just doesn't understand that."
"Why can't Inu Yasha let someone help his kid."
"Because he wants the boy to die, but for it to be at someone or something else's hands," Sango answered with a dark tone to her voice. "Kagome died giving birth to him & Inu Yasha pushes him away like it's the boy's fault, when we all know she was just too young to have children."
"You mean she died giving birth?" Sango nodded. "But Sesshoumaru told me that she died in a battle."
"A battle to make sure mother & child made it through the birth. Even the pregnancy had been hard on her. We all miss her. I don't know about the others, but I wish he could have known Kagome so he could have at least had a mother he remembered."
"I can relate to him... But no one knows what happened to my parents."
"What do you mean?" Sango asked as she sat infront of Nashori on the futon, a bowl in her hand that held an odd looking mush. "This might hurt a little bit," she said as she began to rub some of the poultice on the wounds, making sure to leave the ones near her eyes alone for now so she could get them last.
"Well, my mom & dad just us & left one day & never came back or called, or anything... I don't even know if they're still alive anymore. It would be nice to know though, to ease my mind a little bit."
"Nashori, you seem to be such a nice person... I don't know why Inu Yasha has to be like this to you. You don't deserve it after all you've been through in the past two weeks."
"Finding myself in a strange era, dying & coming back multiple times, finding out that youkai & hanyous actually did exsist at one time, finding out I'm a hanyou myself, having the one who watched over me abandon me with the brother who hates everyone, & now this..." Nashori winced when the sting of the poultice settled in. "I just wish I knew the answers to the questions running through my mind..."
"Anything I might be able to answer for you without you having to go near Inu Yasha?"
"Why is Miroku so perverted?"
"Have you noticed the sutra beads around his right hand?" Nashori nodded. "Those beads contain a dangerous weapon called the Kazaana... It's a powerful wind tunnel that sucks up anything & everything he directs it to. As time goes by, it gets bigger & bigger, & soon it'll suck him into it & he'll be gone forever. He's trying to find a woman to bare him a son so that his son can carry on the fight & hopefully destroy the curse placed on the family."
"Curse? What curse?"
"There is a youkai that goes by the name, Naraku... He placed the curse of the Kazaana on Miroku's grandfather & it carried to his father, then to him. Once Naraku is destroyed, then the curse will be lifted & there will no longer be the threat of a wind tunnel."
"Poor guy... I bet he always worries about it..." Nashori groaned as Sango began careful work on the two scratches by her right eye.
"From what I know, he does. Any other questions you want answers to?"
"Does he have a nice, non-perverted, side to him at all?"
"Of course. His main hobby is being a lecher though... If he thinks you're in too much distress, he will try to comfort you. He's not always a jerk."
"How do you catch him in a nice mood?"
"Appear to be in a moment of distress. Whether it's emotional or physical doesn't matter with him, just seem hopeless."
"From the time I come from, it's hard to find a guy that likes to help woman in distress."
"Guys seem to change as the years go by from what I heard from Kagome before she died. I don't know why the men keep changing for the worse."
"Neither do I... It would be nice to know though..."
Sango nodded as someone knocked lightly on the screen door. "Who's there?"
"Reikon Hakaisha..." Came a quiet answer. "Can I come in?"
Sango looked at Nashori who was looking at the door before she looked at Sango, feeling her eyes on her. "Do you want him to?" Nashori nodded & Sango looked towards the door. "Come on in Reikon Hakaisha."
The quarter youkai pushed aside the screen & walked in, looking at Nashori. "Are those marks from my dad?" Nashori nodded & he hesitated before he walked over to her & wrapped his good arm around her neck, hugging her lightly. It shocked him when she wrapped her arms around him & returned the hug, because no one had ever let him hug them or even hugged him back when he got a chance to. "I'm sorry for him," he said softly, nuzzling his face in her neck so he could inhale her scent.
"It's not your fault hon," she said as she rubbed his back softly. She rose her eyes to look at Sango who was shocked & looked as if she were watching her own soul being taken away. She smiled a little & touched the side of her head against the top of his, careful of his ears, closing her eyes. "Your father just... He's just mean, that's all..."
"He shouldn't be mean to you though, you didn't do anything..." He pulled away slightly, but kept his arm around her neck as she opened her eyes. "It's my fault he hurt you... If I didn't break my stupid wrist then he wouldn't have hit you."
"Don't you dare to take the blame for this Reikon Hakaisha," she said with a stern voice as she looked at him. "It's not your fault you fell the wrong way; you couldn't help it."
The pup looked at her, confused by her defending him & not taking his father's side, or telling him he was right that it was his fault. He looked into her eyes to see if she might be fooling him in someway, waiting for some dark look to show in her eyes, but he saw nothing but care & concern.
"Don't ever let me hear you blaming yourself for this... Ever. Okay?" When he nodded, she pulled him close again, purring softly without knowing she had begun to. When she noticed it, she kept purring.
"I'm going to go talk to Kaede about your living period here; how much longer until we try to find you a new home," Sango said as she rose to her feet & left the hut, walking to Kaede's hut.
"What does she mean?" Reikon Hakaisha asked, pulling away from Nashori completely.
"It's not certain that I'll be living here permanately or if I'll be sent off to another village... Or even a home with a youkai so I would be safe due to what I am. Kaede said she would give it some time before she decided; so she could see how the villagers around here would act around me because of the way your father has become..."
"So you might be leaving," he said as his ears went back.
"Hopefully not... Things have been going good with the villagers so far, minus a few occurances with your father, but with me everything's been fine. So I might get to stay here."
"There's still a chance of you leaving though."
"I won't deny that, but I'm trying to ignore it because I like it here. I like it here because of the friends I've made." As she said those words, she rubbed the top of his head between his ears & gave him a soft smile.
