-Am I hearing voices?- Nashori asked herself, listening to the muffled voices around her. She felt a pressure next to her that made her body go to the side slightly. She groaned softly when she felt a soft hand rest on her forehead. "Mrs. Hitari...?" She opened her eyes to find herself staring up at a man with long silver hair & golden cat-like eyes. She tried to move, but found she couldn't because her entire body was filled with a deep pain that made it hard for her to move.
"Don't try to move," he spoke. "Your body hasn't recovered yet from being buried in snow. Since you have died several times, your body has suffered more damage. But it will all heal in due time. All you can do is lay here & let your body get the rest it needs."
"Who are you & where am I?" She asked, sniffling.
"My name is Sesshoumaru & you are in my castle in the middle of the Western Lands I inherited from my once great father. I brought you here after one of my servants found you & led me to you. You were dead when we got to you, but shortly after we arrived, your heart began to beat again."
"I was dead?"
Sesshoumaru nodded. "As far as I know, you have left this world seven times since I found you. But every time you manage to bring yourself back somehow."
"Why are you wearing make-up on your face? Or are those marks made by paint?"
Sesshoumaru stared at her, wondering what she was talking of. He knew of people using decorative face paints in celebration, but he had never heard of the "make up" she mentioned. "My marks are from my blood line. Both of my parents were powerful youkai & when I was born, I had the markings you see now."
Nashori looked at the great youkai as if he had suddenly grown a second, third, & fourth head. "What are you talking about? This is the year two thousand five, not fourteen sixty whatever or whenever the hell the Sengoku-jidai was. That era that youkai were rumored to have over-rule of Tokyo. Youkai definitely do not exist." She looked at him markings, then his ears & hair, before she finally looked at his outfit. "Oh I get it, Sasuma put you up to this little act, didn't she? Well you can cut it now, I figured you out."
Sesshoumaru's bored expression was replaced by one of anger as his eyes narrowed slightly & the corners of his mouth turned downward. "I assure you, hanyou, that I am not acting. I am the great youkai Lord Sesshoumaru, ruler of the Western Lands that were passed onto me by my late father's passing. I have had these great lands for more than sixty years, only starting out with the help of my servant, Jaken. When I was old enough, he let me do things on my own, & as you will see once you get better, I have managed to take very good care of these lands."
"Do you realize that all of the stuff that you just said was a major waste of your time & breath because I still don't believe you? I do not believe in youkai, great youkai Lords, or whatever all that shit was you were talking about," Nashori said as she tried to rise from the bed, crying out softly when a pain shot through her spine. "Oh Gods, what was that pain from?" She groaned. "And why did you call me 'hanyou'? I'm a human, not a hanyou."
"I have told you that you were buried in snow & that you body has not yet recovered. What will it take until you believe me in what all I said? When will you stop denying it & just admit that you know you are not in your own time. I can tell by your clothing what era you are from," Sesshoumaru spoke with a bored expression again. "I would have recognized it sooner, but your scent threw me off. You do not carry the scent of someone from the era I learned of once."
"What are you talking about? That last part you said."
"Your scent threw me off to the point I did not concentrate on placing your outfit. You wear the same outfit as a human wench that came to this time a few years ago. She was my hanyou brother's wench & the reincarnation of a priestess killed long ago. If my memory serves me correct, her name was Kagome. He lost her in a battle that no one speaks of because of the reason behind it." Sesshoumaru rose from the bed that he was allowing her to rest on, & walked to the window that over-looked only a small section of his great Western Lands. From his spot, he stared out the window, watching the sun as it began to set. "I will send word to my brother to recover you once I know that your health is in a stable state."
Nashori watched his every move, from the point of him rising from the bed, to him sitting back down next to her. "I don't get it... You know of Kagome, but everyone knows she did from blood loss in a car accident. At least that's what her mother & grandfather told the school officials at her school. Why would they lie to the school?"
Sesshoumaru looked at her. "Because of fools like you that would not believe the truth even if they heard it loud & clear," he replied. "Now. Go to sleep. You need as much rest as you can get so that your body can recover much faster."
Nashori watched as Sesshoumaru rose to his feet once more & walked slowly to the door, leaving her alone as he walked out, shutting the door. -All of this is too much,- she thought to herself. -Maybe if I go back to sleep I can wake up from this nightmare I'm stuck in.- She shifted only slightly until the pain lightened from her being out of the angle she fell back into when she fell back onto the bad from the pain that shot up her spine. -I hope it's just a nightmare, a very bad one. I want to be back home with Hokuro. Even if he no longer trusts me or cares for me...-
