"Miyoko will grow to be a gorgeous child, even if the poor thing is a hanyou," Suki spoke softly as she looked from the hanyou pup in its mother's lap, to the ningen mother, Mika, who smiled only slightly at the Lady of the Western Inu Youkai.

"Thank you Suki-sama," Mika replied with a small nod. "It is a great compliment to hear from the mouth of a powerful, ningen-loathing, Inu Youkai as yourself. How is your mate, Sugimi-sama doing?"

"My mate is in our Western Lands, patrolling with our son, Sesshoumaru, while his wretched nigou watches their pup, Inu Yasha."

"You are a powerful Tai Youkai, Suki-sama; even more powerful than Sugimi-sama. I do not understand why he would need to take a ningen nigou," Mika said as her imp servant, Hebo, poured tea for herself & Suki, then left the room after bowing to them both.

"Suki-sama, is it true that Sugimi-sama made a sword for Inu Yasha?" Miyoko asked, staring at Suki.

Suki narrowed her eyes. "Yes; the Tetsusaiga." She scoffed & calmed herself. "A sword that can slaughter one-hundred youkai with one swing. Yet for a pure youkai, Sesshoumaru, he makes the Tenseiga, that saves one-hundred lives with one swing. What good will it do for my son to have such a useless sword, & the hanyou, such a powerful sword? It is not right."

"You have every right to feel this way. I'm sure it does not help any, that in your own castle the nigou, Sakura, has more control than you. I am sorry you have to live with all of these happenings," Mika said before she drank some of her tea.

Suki also took a drink of her tea, watching the hanyou squirm slightly in Mika's lap; staring at the imp servant of herself & Sugimi, Jaken, as he walked quickly into the room. "Jaken, why are you here, instead of guarding the nigou back at the castle?" Suki asked, looking at the servant.

"Suki-sama, you have to come back right away!" Jaken said, connecting the bottom of the Staff of Skulls to the ground. "It is a straight command from Sugimi-sama."

"How nice; commanding his own mate around when he pleases," Suki said as she rose to her feet. "I am sorry to cut this short, Mika, but my mate has commanded me home."

"It is okay Suki," Mika said, rising to her feet. The women bowed to each other, & soon, Suki was gone. "I feel sorry for that woman," Mika sighed as she picked Miyoko up into her arms. She looked at the imp servant. "Hebo, show Jaken out & clean up."

"Mama, why is Suki angry at Inu Yasha & Sugimi-sama, but not papa & me?" Miyoko asked, looking up at her mother's face. "Papa & Sugimi-sama both have hanyou pups, so what's the difference?"

"Sugimi-sama & Suki-sama were mated to each other long before she bore to him, young Sesshoumaru-sama. Two years later, Suki-sama finds that for a full previous year, her mate had been with a nigou, Sakura; & that woman had bore a pup only a few months previous to him, Sugimi-sama, bringing her, Sakura, to the castle. Here is where the difference you asked about comes in my daughter. Your father, Yukio, who not mated when I joined with him, & a few years after, had you. The difference between all of this is, that I didn't ruin a home by coming into his life & bearing him a pup. Miyoko, you are the same age as the young pup Inu Yasha."

"I still don't get what the big deal is though," Miyoko whined, not liking it too much that she was starting to get confused.

"One day you will understand it."

"Keh."

"Sugimi, what is the meaning of commanding me home?" Suki demanded as she burst through the screen door that led to the room her mate shared with his nigou. "What was this important?"

"The Inu Youkai was wounded in battle & needs your healing attention, Suki-sama," Sakura said from her lover's bed roll next to his side.

"So was it you, or Sugimi, that sent for me?"

"It was my dear Sugimi that sent for you. He wishes for you to heal him, but he passed out before you arrived."

Suki's eyes widened when she heard the words "my dear Sugimi," & her ears, the one part of her true form that she let show through, went back against her skull. "He can heal on his own. If he has not awoken by sun rise, then I will heal him."

"But Suki-sama-"

"Do not try to make me do anything, I will do it on my own time." Suki turned & left the bedroom as she made her way to the scroll room.

"Suki-sama, why have you chosen not to heal Sugimi-sama?" Jaken asked, following her into the scroll room. "He is your mate, is he not?"

"Yes, he is my mate; but he is not my pup, or my responsibility."

"But, what has he done to deserve the pain he will be in when he awakens?"

"Nigou."

Inu Yasha lay curled against his father's side, but he wasn't asleep; he was listening to his heartbeat & slightly ragged breathing. "Get better father," he whispered. As he began to stroke his father's fluffy tail, he heard crying somewehre in the castle that made him stop & turn his ears, trying to find the sound's location. The pup rose to his feet & took one last look at his father before he left the room, shutting the screen door behind him.

"Please Sugimi-sama, get yourself better," Sakura sobbed into her hands. "I still need you with me. Suki-sama has chosen to let you awaken with pain, & I wish I could help you. But, she has made it quite clear that I am too weak & useless to do so." Sakura wiped her eyes & brought her knees to her chest, sniffling softly.

"Mother, why do you cry?" Inu Yasha asked, walking into the bath room. "Father will be okay. He is too strong to let a deep wound take his life."

"I know my son, but I still worry."

"You should have more faith in father."

"I have faith in Sugimi-sama, it is just in my nature to over worry," Sakura said as she pulled Inu Yasha to her breast after putting her legs down."

"Mother?"

"Yes Inu Yasha?"

"You are in the bath room, but you are not in the water... Why is this?"

"Because I did not think anyone would bother me in here."

"I am sorry mother, but I was worried."

"It's alright Inu Yasha. I welcome your company any day."

"Suki-sama, are you sure this is wise?" Jaken asked, pacing nervously infront of the Tai Yasha. "The idea sounds to me as if it would not work."

"Jaken, Sugimi-sama is dying from the wound he recieved from Ryukotsusei, & I could not heal him. It would be a waste of energy to attempt a healing when his body has given in to the wound."

"That is why you would not heal him earlier..."

"By the time I arrived, he was already too far gone from us to bring back."

"But what does all this have to do with your plan for the pup of the Eastern Youkai?"

Suki looked down at Jaken & smiled slightly before she took her "canine" teeth in between her thumb & forefinger of both hands, & pulled the two teeth from her mouth, closing her eyes from the small bit of pain brought on by her action. "Jaken, choose. Kaijinbo, or Aenaisaigo."

"Aenaisaigo is a kitsune swordsmith; & more skilled than Kaijinbo."

"Then take my fangs to Aenaisaigo, & tell her I am having her make a sword for a pup. The pup is pure of heart & a hanyou."

"Yes Suki-sama," Jaken said as he took the fangs & left the room.

Suki stared after Jaken until he was gone & a blood-curdling scream carried throughout the castle. She listened for her mate's heartbeat, but she found that it could not be heard. "Hopefully Aenaisaigo will be able to make the sword in time for my plans. I just hope that the pup will be able to handle the Ketsuekiken when she gets it," she spoke softly to herself as she walked slowly to her late mate's bed room.
