"Justin? Justin, you have to wake up," begged a soft voice that sounded so far away. "Please my baby, just open those blue eyes of yours for me just one more time. One last time is all I ask of you..."
Justin lay there motionless, though his body held a sweet, dreamish hum that coursed through every part of his body. He no longer felt cold, but warm again. 'What's going on? Why can I feel again?' he asked himself as he slowly opened his eyes when he felt a gentle hand running through his curls.
"Justin? Baby?" the voice was close now, right next to him. He turned his head & shifted his eyes to look at Lynn, his mommy by his bed.
"Mommy?" His voice sounded so hoarse.
"Oh my baby, you're awake!" she cried, leaning down to embrace him in a gentle hug.
"Awake? Mommy, wh-"
"Shh baby... I'm going to go get the doctor."
Justin watched as Lynn ran out of the room, calling for his doctor. 'Awake? What's going on?' He saw something out of the corner of his other eye & he turned his head, shifting his eyes once more to see Caitlin standing by the window. "Cait, what's going on?" he asked.
"You're alive again Justin," she replied. "I was supposed to be born into a new body soon, but I gave it up so you could live again. To them it was just a horrible accident that everyone survived... You still fell out of your bunk though, hence the head trauma they know of. But you & I both know the truth."
"So I'm alive again? I'm actually back?" She nodded. "But wait, you gave up a new life for me? But why?"
"You needed to come back more than I ever did Justin. Your brothers are going to need you as they grow up."
He gave her a faint smile. "Thank you Caitlin. Am I ever going to see you again?"
"Hard telling... I don't think so."
"Oh.."
"I have to be going now Justin," she walked to his bed & leaned down, kissing him softly. When she felt him kiss back, she did something, she didn't normally do, she stopped time for everyone, but themselves & closed her eyes so they could continue the slightly passionate kiss. When he slid his tongue from his mouth to hers, gliding it along her lips, she parted her lips to grant his tongue permission. Their tongues tangled for a few moments before she pulled away, knowing what could happen if time remained stopped for too long. She licked her lips & looked at him as he opened his eyes & licked his own lips. "Goodbye Justin." She made it so time continued.
"Goodbye Caitlin." He watched as she faded away. He looked to the door way when his mom & the doctor came in. After the doctor had given him a good check over, he permitted Justin's family to come in one at a time, his brothers had to come in with his daddy Randy though since they were still young.
When Jonathon came in & was allowed on the bed with his brother, he cuddled close to him & cried since he had been so scared when he heard Justin had been hurt badly. He had been afriad he wasn't going to see his brother again.
Justin rubbed his back. "It's okay Jonathon, I'm still here & I plan on staying here for a long time to come."
He sniffled. "I thought I was going to lose the bestest brother in the whole wide world," he cried softly into Justin's chest.
Justin smiled a little. "Don't worry, you'll never lose me."
He pulled his head from Justin's chest & wipped his eyes, sniffling. "Promise?"
Justin ruffled the younger boy's hair. "Definately." Jonathon smiled & hugged Justin the best he could. "You'll never lose me little guy, you hear me?" He kissed the top of his brother's head.
