Engetsu lay still on the ground with her head in Inu Yasha's lap as Miroku & Sango nursed & dressed the wound on her shoulder she received from Sesshomaru using his dokkasou. She smiled up at Inu Yasha. "You have grown to be so handsome."
"What are you talking about?" he asked as he looked down at her. "I'm still a hanyou! And right now I'm an ugly human with ugly black hair & a rotten stench!"
"Inu Yasha quit caring so much about your damned looks or I'll slice you in half," she said as she rolled her eyes. "So what if you're a hanyou? If Lord Inutaishou were alive & heard you talking about yourself like that, I'm sure he'd strike you." When she took notice that Miroku & Sango were done with their job, she rose to her feet with help from Miroku. "Thank you both, very much."
"You're welcome Lady Engetsu," Miroku said as he rose to his feet. "Are you going to be able to make it to where you might be going without assisstance?"
"Yes Miroku, I'll make it there just fine. Thank you for showing concern for me. It's very sweet of you."
"Where are you going now?" Myoga asked as he hopped onto her shoulder. "Are you sure you're in the right condition to travel?"
"I'll be fine Myoga, don't worry about me. Just watch after Inu Yasha for me." She gave a small smile to everyone & went to Kagome. "Kagome?"
"Yes Engetsu?"
"You're searching for the peices of the jewel shard, am I correct?" When Kagome nodded, Engetsu removed a dangling coin pouch from her sash & handed it to Kagome. "There are around nine or ten jewel shards in there. I took them from demons who were using them for bad uses, but I didn't know what to do with them until now. You can have them for your collection."
"Thank you Engetsu," Kagome smiled. "But can I ask you something?"
"Sure Kagome, what is it?"
"Well, every demon we've come across that has a jewel shard, has one that's tainted, making them evil. The one in you have is tainted, yet you're a sweet, kind demon. How are you able to resist the power of the shard?"
"I'm stronger one little fragment & I don't need it to be strong. I was just using it to see, but what I see all saddens me," she answered as she put her hand to her forehead & drew out the jewel shard. She handed it to Kagome as her vision began to slowly fade away. "Take this one as well. I was born & trained to be a blind youkai. I shouldn't be using a jewel shard to see with." She walked to Inu Yasha & got on her knees infront of him. "Inu Yasha, it was nice to finally see what you look like as a hanyou & as a human. That face of yours will stay in my mind as the great friend I once had during my late teen years & your child hood. You'll always be my friend Inu Yasha & I'm sure your father is proud of you, being a hanyou." She kissed his forehead as her eyes turned from amber, to the light blue he'd once known her to have. "I want you to take good care of your friends & the girl, you understand me? If you ever need for anything, find me. Or if you need somewhere to live, where you & your future mate & children will be welcome, come to my Eastern castle & make yourself at home."
Inu Yasha watched as Engetsu rose to her feet & began walking away, saying nothing more. He watched her form until he could no longer see her & rose to his feet, walking into the woods, needing to be alone.
Engetsu turned her head back to the campsite she left, listening to the sounds of Miroku talking about her to Kagome & Sango. She also heard Inu Yasha whisper a goodbye he probably didn't think she would hear & a smile came to her face. "Goodbye Inu Yasha. I know you'll see me again if Myoga has anything to do with it."
