Kagome looked around for Sango & Kirara, hoping for help from the two, but when she found them, she saw they had been knocked unconscious & were laying a few feet away. Miroku was ontop of her, bleeding severly after having protected her from a blow from Sesshomaru's massive paw. She was trying to save Inu Yasha when Sesshomaru swung his paw at her & Miroku got infront of her, taking the hit that knocked both of them to the ground. She looked at Inu Yasha to see he was still being crushed by his brother's paw, when she saw a mass of black, larger than Sessshomaru, slammed into him, knocking him to the ground, freeing Inu Yasha from under his brother's paw.
Myoga was on Engetsu's head, between her ears, where he knew he could watch the fight with safety. "That was a good move, Lady Engetsu!" Myoga cheered. When he didn't recieve a reply, he looked to see why; she was watching Sesshomaru. When Sesshomaru rose to his feet, glaring at her with his red eyes, her purple-ish eyes were returning the stare.
"Inu Yasha," Kagome said, watching the half demon as he rose to a sitting position. "Inu Yasha," she said once more, this time getting his attention. She watched him as he rose to his feet & walked to her, pushing Miroku's limp body to the side.
"Are you okay Kagome?" he asked as he helped her to her feet, looking to the two demons that were staring each other down.

Sesshomaru is still as weak as ever, Engetsu thought to herself. The only difference is the jewel shard. She glanced at Inu Yasha from the corner of her eye. He's okay for now, but I need to get him to leave with his friends so they'll be out of the way, she thought.
Sesshomaru saw her attention go to Inu Yasha & took the chance to lunge at her, but landed on the ground when she dodged his attack. His miss infuriated him, & when he turned around to lunge again, his throat was caught in her jaws & she rolled him so she was above him, holding him to the ground. Who is this demon? he thought to himself as he struggled to get away, pawing at the demon as he tried to break free; releasing poison from his claws at the same time.
Engetsu clamped down tighter, depsite the pain in her shoulder where his dokkasou was burning away her fur & flesh. When a clawed pawcame to her head, colliding with her jaw, she was forced to let go & she watched Sesshomaru as he rose, blood staining his silver-white coat where she bit into his flesh. She focused her mind on Sesshomaru & away from her pain so she could continue to fight without trouble.
Sesshomaru growled as he stared at the female dog demon before him that was bigger than him, finding that he was surprised at how strong she was compared to him.
Engetsu watched as an arrow flew into his arm, shooting through his flesh to come out the other side with a jewel shard on the tip. When both the arrow & shard fell to the ground, Sesshomaru transformed back to his humanoid form & ripped the now useless arm, that Jaken had fetched for him, from his body. She transformed back to her humanoid form as well & stared right at him, not letting her eyes wander again.

It took Kagome until now to realize that the two jewel shards she had sensed were right infront of her. She watched as Myoga grabbed the shard she shot from Sesshomaru's arm & took it to the female demon that now stood across from Sesshomaru. The youkai took the shard & looked at Sesshomaru as if she was studying him. Everything is so quiet now, she thought to herself.
"Myoga, you traitor!" Inu Yasha screamed, breaking the silence. "Bring us the jewel shard!" His look of anger disappeared, only to be replaced by an unreadable expression as he looked at Engetsu, who stared at him.
"You must be Inu Yasha," she spoke softly. "Myoga was right when he told me you've grown up so much." She smiled at his look of confusion. "Of course you don't remember me," she smiled to him & looked at Sesshomaru. "Neither do you."
"Yet you fight me like you knew what I was going to do," Sesshomaru answered. "I should remember someone as yourself."
"Yet you don't & I remember both of you perfectly," Engetsu mused.
"Do you remember her at all Inu Yasha?" Kagome asked.
"No," Inu Yasha replied, putting Tetsusaiga back into its sheath, no longer feeling the need for it. "How do you know us? And what is your name?"
"Inu Yasha, my name is Engetsu. I was a friend of yours & your family before the detah of your father; the Great youkai Lord, Inutaishou. I am the current ruler of the Eastern Lands. Do you remember me yet?"
"I remember you," Sesshomaru said with a slight growl. "I was supposed to join with you as mates so there would be peace between out lands. Back then, you were blind if I recall correctly."
"Yes, I was..."
"How are you able to see then?" Inu Yasha asked.
"I have a jewel shard in my forehead. I'd prefer to be blind, since I wouldn't have to hear & see Sesshomaru. Hearing him was enough torture. But now that I have to see him as well, I think I'm already losing my eye sight," she said with a teasing tone as she glanced at
Sesshomaru who looked ready to kill.
"Wait. Did Sesshomaru say you were supposed to join with him as mates?" Kagome asked, staying behind Inu Yasha.
"Yes I did," Sesshomaru answered. "I've had enough of this touchy moment. Engetsu, leave so I can finish what I came here to do," he commanded. "I came for the Tetsusaiga & I'm leaving with it."
"I'm not leaving!" she growled, her blue cheek stripes & violet lightning bolt forehead marking, getting brighter in color as a light blue glow began to show in her right hand. "I will not let you harm the innocents!"
Inu Yasha & Kagome, along with the others who were now conscious, watched with shock as a blue light whip shot from Engetsu's hands, making a bolting line to Sesshomaru before he could dodge. They saw a small bit of Sesshomaru's now bleeding chest where the whip managed to slice through his kimono, exposing his skin.
"Perhapsyou should leave, Sesshomaru," Engestu said with a smirk as he markings returned to normal. "Your lack of speed to match my own had earned you that wound. And you had better take care of it well Sesshomaru. It's deeper than you think."
"When we meet again, Engetsu, you will pay for this," Sesshomaru growled before he began walking away.
When Sesshomaru was a fading dot on the horizon, Engetsu looked at the shard in her hand & walked to Inu Yasha. "You mentioned wanting this," she said handing it to Kagome, who held her hand out for it. She smiled at the hanyou who looked at the jewel in Kagome's hand, then at Engetsu's amber eyes. "Why did you leave after Sesshomaru left to look for father's killer?" he asked, thinking about his childhood.
"I was sent away," she answered. "Father sent me away to live in a village for my safety. Then when I was thirty-six, he sent for me to come home since my mother was killed by a family of demon exterminators. But by then, you had been sealed in a tree for about three years."
"Oh... How did you know I, I mean, my friends, were in trouble?"
"Myoga came to get me," she answered. "We had a small talk earlier, so he knew where to find me."
