Joel opened one of Pixley's eyes. It was dialated. "C'mon Pixley."
Heather put a hand on Joel's shoulder. "Is she OK?"
"I don't know. Her eyes are dialated." He looked at Heather, tears in his eyes.
"First, we have to cool her down. Help me take her shirt off." Heather pulled off the Minor Threat shirt and started with the plain black. It was hard to get off from it being almost skin tight. "Are you gonna help?"
Joel nodded and pulled Pixley's arms out of the shirt. Pixley was now only in her bra from the waist up. Joel looked at her arm. "What's this?" He asked Heather, holding up Pixley's arm. She had tiney scars all over her arms.
Heather didn't say anything, she just shook her head and looked at Pixley. She shook Pixley's head. Pixley didn't wake up. Heather slapped Pixley's cheek.
Pixley opened her eyes, they were crossed. She blinked a few times and looked at Joel. She tried to sit up, but grabbed her head and layed back down. "What happened?"
Joel wiped his eyes quickly. Heather looked from Joel to Pixley. "You passed out and hit your head." She explained.
Joel took Pixley's hand. "I think you have a concusion. You really scared me."
She smiled slightly. "Sorry." She squeazed Joel's hand.
Heather smiled and patted Joel on the back as she stood. "Don't let her fall asleep." She said as she walked back to help Benji.
Joel looked at Pixley. She was holding her head with one hand and Joel's hand with the other. "Uh... Sorry about taking off your shirts. It was Heather's idea."
"Yeah. I know. It's happened before." She tried to hide her arms.
"Can I ask a question?"
"You just did."
"Pixley, what are these scars from?" A serious tone in his voice.
"Rose bushes." She lied again and she hated it. "It's nothing."
Joel looked in her eyes. He knew she was lying again. "Pixley, please don't lie to me. I know these aren't from rose bushes. So please tell me?"
"I did. It's nothing." She slowly sat up.
Heather came back carrying Benji's guitar. "Hey. You gonna conk out on us again?"
"No. I just need an asperin." Heather, always prepared since Pixley did this at the ice skating rink, handed her a small packet of aperin and a bottled water. Pixley smiled. "Thanks."
Benji nonchalantly wrapped his arms around Heather's waist. "Is she OK?"
"She was the last time."
Joel held Pixleys hand on the drive to Heathers house. He looked at Pixley. "I don't want you to walk home, so please tell me where your house is."
"We're in the drive way right now."
Joel shook his head. "I know this is Heathers house. She told me you lived down the street, but didn't say where."
After a long akward silence and a cold stare from Joel, she answered. "203 South Bleaker Street."
Benji drove into the drive way of the shabby house. Pixley got out slowly and walked to the door. "G'night guys." She walked inside and shut the door.
Benji pulled out of the driveway and went home.
Pixley stumbled into her room and fell on her bed. Her body refused to sleep, so she just layed on her bed staring up at the ceiling.
