"Benjamin. Why don't you tell us what you think is so important, now that you have gathered our attention." Mrs. Proctor snaps at me.
Only a dream. Thank God its only a dream. It was so real though. So fucking real. Sitting here in science can do a lot to your brain. I don't even know a Tony or a Billy. How did I make them so visual?
"N-Nothing. Sorry." I mutter, sulking into my desk. Only a dream. Yes, it's only a dream. So why am I shaking so much?
"Ok, well next time you fall asleep, try to make it quiet, please?"
I close my eyes and nod. I'm 16 and I'm still having nightmares. Fucking bloody hell, I must be such a wimp.
"Ok, back to covalent and ionic bonds." She says, turning back to the white board.
I drone her out by singing a Rancid song in my head. Great choice, huh? First I dream about Lars, from Rancid, trying to kill me and this boyfriend that I don't even have, and now I'm humming one of their songs. I'm loosing my fucking mind.
"Now, after that, who can tell me what the difference is- Oh, and you are-?" Mrs. Proctor turns her attention to a guy who just entered our room. He looks oddly familiar.
"Hi. Um I'm new here."
"Name?"
"Tony Lavato."
"Ok then Tony, you can sit right next to Benji there." I shoot my head up again. No. Th-This can't be happening.
"Hey, I'm Tony." He says taking the stool next to me.
"B-Benji." I stutter.
"Ok, well, Tony, since you're new here, will someone please explain to him what we're talking ab- Ok, and you are?"
"I'm new."
"Two new kids in one day? That's gotta be a record. Name?"
"Billy Martin."
I smile. Nope. I'm loosing my fucking mind and I'll just wake up again and find myself in a psyco ward.
"Billy. Well, ok, you can take the seat behind Benji. Sorry Benji, I'm loading all these new guys on you."
He takes the seat behind me and I turn to look at him a little.
"Hi, I'm Billy."
"Benji." I smile again. Nope. Loosing my fucking mind. I might as well play along with it.
