It's always better to be prepared for the move

BOXES: Collecting of empty boxes from supermarkets and local shops a few weeks in advance is helpful. They usually should have plenty to spare.

PACKING: Always pack well in advance of the move date. Packing boxes evenly so they are not overfull that they burst or maybe difficult for you to carry when loading/unloading. Also take care not to underfill the boxes either because when stacked they may collapse. Try to close and seal all the  boxes to minimize chances of damage to your belongings.

Plastic Bags: Where possible, try and avoid low quality bin-liner type bags for carrying your clothes etc. Unless they are sturdy type they tend to rip easily and cause unneccessary delays and expense for you, plus potential damage to your clothes.

Furniture: All items of furniture to be moved that can be dismantled must be done so beforehand. Flat-pack furniture should be dismantled because it has been known to fall apart upon being moved, therefore we do not accept responsiblity for such items; besides it will save you space in the van and be safe. Beds should be dismantled for ease of carrying and saving space. Also make sure furniture like sofas and settees that you are taking with you will fit through doors and staircases at the delivery address, and if removal of windows are necessary then that sould also be pre arranged. Any delays for window removal or other prolonged waiting is charged to you extra to the agreed price.

Appliances: All kitchen appliances should be disconnected and made safe professionally. Fridge freezers  and washing mashines should be empty and dry before the move, Better not to buy frozen food for some time before hand so that none is wasted and appliances disconnected and drained and should be dry by the day of the move.

Parking and access: If parking is a problem then ensure that by arranging with neigbours or other interested parties that there is parking available for the van outside or near your premises. Any parking costs and even fines are your responsibility. Also make sure that access is clear to facilitate loading/unloading, particularly hallways and stairs should be clear of any obstructions. There will be extra charge incurred for no parking close to drop off point or delays because large and bulky items would not fit through staircases or doorways, leading to extra time wasted.

Delays:   All waiting time is charged to you even for unforeseen circumstances whilst the van is kept waiting.

Helping Hands: The driver would help in loading/unloading but not being a removals firm we do not provide labour for removals and accept no such responsibility. If you call a few friends round to help load/unload, then that would make the process quicker and thus save you money. So on the day of the move invite friends to help, because more helping hands are better and of course cheaper for you.
