Taking a Bite out of Cynical Crime

Okay, so I know this the new fad, I'm not blind. Young people in my generation - my peers - are either witless dumbfucks, or the complete opposite: kids who think they're so much higher than everyone else that they become jaded and sarcastic. Often, these cynics, too young to know better, are classified as goths, punks, etc, are rebels, outcasts and the like. Better yet, they're artists. I admit, I am probably one of those. I admit to being cynical, admit to being spiteful of the rest of my generation, and admit to being rather attached to that goth/cyberpunk/idiot subcultures, in manner of Hot Topic-reject. I love sarcasm, I love smiting people with my cynical remarks. Whu-BAM! You just got CYNIC-ED.

But seriously, guys. What the fuck is all this new shit about? I'm starting to get sick of you bastards. Sure, my two best friends are both sarcastic beyond belief. Sure, all of my friends are those I classify as cynics - kids who know we're better than most other people. But there is a point, people, when it becomes too much. This cynicism will be fueled into - GASP! - the horror of horrors... TEEN ANGST.

Like what the fuck is this shit? I had to actually BUY this crap for 10th grade. Gave money to THIS? Come on, if I want teen angst poetry, I can join those LJ communities, 'kay?

This is when cynicism, in all of its spiteful beauty, becomes something evil and downright fucking annoying. It's when you guys use it to excess. It's when you look down your nose at anyone who doesn't appear half as cynical and internally pained as you. It's when you cynics type in your little journals about how you're not going to do what other people do, becuase you're better than that, about how you're so much cooler than everyone else with your internal dialogues becuase, hey - teen intellectualism never felt so good.

If you ask me, all of you have become misguided. Not that you asked, but that's the difference between you and I. I'm telling you fuckers, even though you didn't ask. Actually, no one really bothered to ask you and you tell us anyway, what with your being so TIRED of all these dumbasses. Fine, if you don't want anyone to know what you're feeling, can the sarcasm too, okay? Becuase sarcasm speaks volumes.

/....end.
