Session 5 [18 February 2005]: (...continued)

As the group move down the stairs (a) leading from level 2 to level 3, they become face to face with some ghouls!  The barbarian immediately rushes headlong into the fight but the greataxe misses a ghoul but the hair of a breath!  The mage casts a disrupt undead upon him and injures the same ghoul.  The fighter engages a ghoul, injuring him too.  All the while, the cleric was mumbling a turn undead spell.  3 of the ghouls cowered at the back of the room, in apparent fear, retreating into another chamber (b).  The ghoul attacks the fighter but misses to claw him, while the other ghoul hits the barbarian slightly, and got injured from the thorns upon the studded leather.  With another swing of his axe, Blog goth this time hits the ghoul, while magnus was still fighting the other ghoul, slashing him with his halberd!  The cleric bangs down his morningstar on the ghoul, deeply wounding it.  The ghouls were too feeble to hit their targets.  Suddenly, blog goth swung his axe with such a force however he hit nothing and the steel hit the dungeon walls, damaging the sharp blade!  Out of the dark, flying bat demons emerged and attack the barbarian.  Lightning sizzles between a bat and Blog goth.  The barbarian twitched horrendously as blood flew out of his body from the electrical jolt.  This caused the bat to be hit by one of the thorns upon his leather.  A bat flew towards the fighter but Magnus avoided the direct attack.  The sorcerer's hands suddenly glowed red as flames leapt out straight into the bodies of two bat demons, wounding them.  Magnus breaks out and runs to the other bat, trying to block it from attacking the mage.  However the bat maneuvered well against the halberd.  In the meanwhile the cleric, who was still engaged with the ghoul, managed to kill him.  The other ghoul dug it's fingers into the barbarian's flesh as he was preparing to strike the bat.  The axe still managed to make contact with the demon bat, although with some difficulty.  From a dark corner, a spike fiend shows up and shoots but his darts got stuck on the walls.  The bat gives Blog goth another jolt while other bat demons try to attack the mage and magnus but they defended themselves pretty well.  The mage tried to put some distance between him and the attacking bat, steps back and shoots one of his magical missiles, which injures 2 of the bats.  The cleric used his voice again to injure and stun some of the fiends, killing the heavily wounded bat.  The axe fell down once again, this time upon the ghoul, which cut him in half!  The bats, undeterred by the missile form the mage, attack again but both heroes avoid their sharp claws.  More and more creatures start to show up, as a devil kin thrusts his weapon into the barbarian's thigh.  Another devil kin hits the cleric while the spike fiend shoots and injures magnus.  The buckler splintered at an edge from the powerful blow of one of the spikes!  Magnus swerved his halberd, but the bat demon once again escaped safely the threat.  Lysander joined his companions, killing the bat immediately with a hit of his morningstar, while from behind sadak pierces the heart of a devil kin with a shot from his crossbow.  bleeding heavily almost to the point of unconsciousness, the situation for blog goth looked grim.  Would he hold his position and risk death or would he retreat to the corner where his friends were?  With the threat posed by the creatures, blog goth slowly retreated to join his friends, drinking a healing potion hastily while retreating.  All the creatures launched an attack upon the heroes, however only a bat managed to inflict some wounds on magnus.  The fighter in turn, killed a spike fiend.  Lysander raised his hand to the air, and a blue haze materialized.  A celestial dog jumped from the haze onto the devil kin however the devil kin was too fast for it.  The exposed mage retreated behind the cover of his friends, and in one swing of his axe, blog goth takes out 2 devil kin.  The devil kin slashed at the dog, wounding it slightly, while the other spike fiend shot at the cleric but the darts fell harmlessly at his feet.  The remaining bat demon managed o avoid the clerics strike but magnus was too quick for it and slashed it with his halberd.  On the other side, the dog clawed the devil kin to death!  From behind, sadak shoots a magic missile onto the wounded bat, which falls down lifeless on the ground.  Having replaced their dead comrades, 2 devil kin face the barbarian, who makes a quick mincemeat out of them both!  The remaining creatures seemed to be too weak to cause any harm, except for the spike fiend, which managed to shot lysander and get him with one of his darts.  Magnus cuts down the fluttering bat while the dog downs another devil kin under its claws.  The cleric bashes to death another devil kin, while sadak from behind him shoots to kill another one of the little demons.  Blog goth cut the last devil kin in half.  Darts flew around the party  but fall harmlessly to the ground, as magnus engages the spike fiend.  The dog engages it too, leaping upon it.  However the powers of the spell were used up, and the dog vanished in thin air!  It was the cleric who finally squished the life out of the spike fiend.  Sadak cast another missile upon the last spike fiend which injures it badly.  Suddenly, the ghouls which had cowered into the next room, reappeared.  Feeling his strength diminish, the barbarian realized he was infected with some sort of rotting disease.  However, weak as he was, he run up to the spike fiend and killed it!  Sadak approached slowly the ghouls, giving them no time to escape the scorching heat he shot at them.  One of the ghouls fell down dead.  The other attacks the cleric but its rotting fingers only hit the wooden shield of Lysander.  Suddenly an axe crushed through the bones of the ghoul, then the halberd hit the undead creature, yet it still survived!  Lysander uttered the words of a spell hastily, inflicting moderate wounds upon the ghoul, but enough to finish it off!  as the last ghoul crept up, sadak shot it with his crossbow, killing it on the spot.  Among the huge pile of cadavers, magnus finds 127 gp, 154 gp and 115 gp, apart from a glaive.  Sadak finds a heavy pick, and a greater scroll of spell magic!  The cleric finds 106 gp, a composite shortbow and a studded leather,  Blog goth added 103, 130 and 154 gold to the stash.  In some chests lying in the middle of the chamber, the mage found 132 gp, while blog goth found a hunter's bow.  Lysander went off to search another chest but it was trapped and blast off in his face!

Session 6 [25 February 2005]:

Leaving the area of the last battle, they go up to the surface to rest and get healed.  They descend back to the entrance chamber (a) of the third dungeon level.  They move to a huge chamber (b), which was empty.  The fighter removed the lid of a barrel, finding 60 gp.  In another chamber (C), 3 spike fiends shoot at them through some metal bars, hitting magnus slightly.  on opening a door that leads into a chamber (d) On the opposite side of the chamber with the spike fiends, they run into some devil kin.  The barbarian immediately launches an attack on one of the devil kin.  The blade of the axe skims above the small demon's head, hitting the dungeon wall.  Part of the blade chipped off!  Some spike fiends show up and shoot the barbarian, missing him by a few inches.  The sorcerer immediately casts a mage armour upon himself, strengthening his defences.  Lysander emits one of his high pitched screams, stunning the spike fiends and killing instantly the four devil kin!  Another devil kin materializes from the shadows, a faint reddish aura engulfing him.  The leader of his pack, gutshank the quick, slashed at blog goth, slightly injuring him, but taking damage himself from one of the spikes upon the barbarian's armour, the spike itself breaking away from the armour.  The fighter moves behind the barbarian and hits the pack leader with his glaive, killing him instantly.  Blog Goth moves up to two of the spike fiends, finishing them off immediately while sadak takes care of the last spike fiend with a bolt from his crossbow.  The fighter stoops down to pick 142 gold pieces from one of the cadavers, while sadak finds a handaxe sheathed on the back of a devil kin.  The barbarian pockets a further 103 gp from another corpse.  Magnus opens one of the chests to find 126 gp.

As they go out of the room, the cleric tries to summon a dog to keep the spike fiends behind the metal bars busy, or perhaps even killing them.  however one of the spike fiends hits him with his darts and injures him slightly, also distracting him from his summoning concentration, leading to failure of the spell.  They hurry to a door they believed would take them to the spike fiends.  Opening the door, they ended in a huge hall (e), with a small room in the centre of it.  Blog goth went to open the door but found it sealed.  A shrine was at the far end of the huge room.  Sadak went over to the shrine and touched it.  A surging power immediately passed through him and a reddish aura gleamed around him.  The shrine gave him powers to resist fire.  Blog Goth looks into the coffin in the middle of the room but it was empty.  The group then opens the door (c) leading to the spike fiends which they encountered behind the metal bars.  Shooting from behind, sadak immediately puts down one of them.  The spike fiends respond but their darts miss their targets, while the barbarian rushes in and finishes off the remaining two fiends.  Under the cadavers, the sorcerer finds a charm and blog goth a short spear.  With nothing more to unearth in this room, the party moves to a small room (f) back at the opposite end of the chamber.  In the bookcase, Lysander finds 5 scrolls, level 5 divine scroll "Mark of Justice", level 4 divine scroll "cure critical wounds", level 5 arcane scroll "cloud kill", level 3 arcane scroll "suggestion", level 3 arcane scroll "non-detection".  The sorcerer picks up a magical flag from its stand, while the fighter pulls at the lever.  Far off, a door seems to creak open.

Continuing to explore the dungeon, the adventurers happen to stumble upon a room (g) full of evil creatures.  Blog Goth immediately finishes off a devil kin with his cleaver, while lysander starts to cast a summoning spell.  The devil kin move in for the kill, however the fighter is ready and brings down one of them.  Another devil kin hits slightly the fighter, while the fury of a magic missile is unleashed upon Bongo, their leader, from the hands of the mage.   The fighter swings his glaive again and beheads another devil kin, clearing the doorway.  The barbarian steps into the doorway straight into the attack, bringing down with a mighty blow the cleaver.  Unfortunately the devil kin jump out of harm's way just in time, the axe hitting the hard ground.  The wooden handle snapped in two, as the blade shot forward!  The butcher's cleaver was broken and useless!  In the meantime, the hippogriff is summoned by the cleric,, and it instantly claws to death one of the devil kin, while snapping another demon in two with its jaws.  lysander rushes into the room, killing another devil kin.  The fighter swings his glaive again, killing another of the demonic imps.  On the other side of the room, bongo hits the hippogriff, injuring it slightly, while two devil kin creatures hit the unarmed barbarian.  From behind, sadak shoots and kills one of the demons.  The fighter goes inside the room and with a swing of his weapon hits bongo.  The barbarian immediately upon losing his weapon, takes out his sword and small shield, and turns to face 3 devil kin.  The small demons try to attack but blog goth is too fast for them, bringing them down with one swish of his blade!  The hippogriff drives its sharp claws deep into bongo's flesh, ending the demon's life, while its master, the cleric, kills off another devil kin.  Seeing their leader dead, the devil kin launch an attack, wounding slightly the barbarian and the hippogriff, however Lysander escapes unscathed.  Sadak shoots a bolt with his crossbow, hitting and injuring a devil kin, but the fighter moves on the the wounded demon and finishes it off.  The remaining 2 devil kin find themselves in deep trouble as they face the angry barbarian.  He soon makes a quick job of them!  To replace the loss of the barbarian's axe, magnus gives blog goth his vicious handaxe.  Among the cadavers, the fighter finds 109 gp from a devil kin and 109 gp from another, while sadak finds 124 gp and 157 gp.  Lysadner picks up a magical wand from Bongo.  He also picks up a small shield from a devil kin and a handaxe sheated on the demon's back, and his short sword.  The fighter opens one of the chests, only to explode in his face, but he managed to escape with minimal damage only.  As  sadak opened another chest, he too triggered an exploding mechanism!  Blog goth removed the lid from a sarcophagus.  Suddenly, 2 burning dead captains leapt out of the coffin!  Immediately, the fighter hits one of the burning skeletons, while the mage shoots a magical missile upon him.  The burning captain hits the barbarian with his flaming sword, but blog goth strikes back with his new weapon, the vicious axe.  Seeing the damage inflicted was minimal, the barbarian steps back, having enough chance to take out his flail.  The cleric's hands gleamed bright white as he casts searing light upon one of the skeletons, however the skeleton was quick to dodge the spell.  It was sadak with another magic missile who brought down the first burning captain.  The other skeleton moves in for the kill.  He swings his sword and hits the barbarian, inflicting critical wounds upon him.  The barbarian staggers back, and immediately drinks one of the healing potions inside his belt pouch.  Seeing his friend almost on the point of death, lysander cast another spell upon the remaining burning dead captain, inflicting moderate wounds upon him.  With his glaive, the fighter continues to injure the skeleton but it was sadak who kills it off with a shot from his crossbow!  The party then decide to go back to Tristram to heal from the battle wounds.  In the village, deckard cain revealed that the wand was a wand of dispel magic and the flag, a flag of jaguar.

Continuing down the dungeon after having rested well in the village and regaining back their strength, the adventurers open the door to another chamber (h).  Plague bearers and a couple of skeletons roamed around the room.  The bones of both skeletons seemed to glow in a blue-reddish hue.  They were bonehead bangshield and skullfire!  Immediately, magnus attacked one of the plague bearers but his attack failed.  Lysander cast a turn undead spell, effecting only one of the plague bearers.  It retreats slowly into the shadows, while the barbarian steps in the room and attacks bonehead bangshield, wounding it with his flail.  The mage cast mage armour on himself, in preparation of any eventuality.  He moves behind the fighter.  Skullfire whips out a longbow and shoots the cleric, hitting him!  The plague bearer engaged with the fighter, turns, ignores the fighter and attacks the barbarian.  It's claws injuring him slightly.  However his hand gets slightly ripped from the sharp spikes protruding out of the barbarian's armour.  A spike fiend suddenly appears and shoots at blog goth, however misses its target.  The fighter swings his glaive, hitting the spike fiend, cutting it in half!  Bonehead attacks blog goth but the barbarian dodges the attack skillfully.  Again the fighter attacks the plague bearer, this time his glaive homing directly into the zombie's flesh.  However it resisted!  The barbarian steps back, hitting the zombie again with his flail.  It was then that Lysander shrieks out, the sound burst injuring all the undead creatures.  From behind, sadak's hands glowed red, as scorching fire shot out, instantly burning to death a spike fiend and skullfire.  The fire also injured the retreated plague bearer.  The attacking plague bearer hit the barbarian again, its claws this time penetrating into the barbarian's flesh!  Magnus swung his glaive, killing an advancing spike fiend, and in another swing he also wounded the plague bearer more and more.  However the zombie resisted still the attacks and injuries!  Lysander moved beside the fighter, casting a searing light in the process upon the plague bearer, wounding it.  In the meanwhile, a spike fiend creeps up beneath the barbarian, however he saw it and immediately put an end to its life.  In the same attack, the barbarian swerves and hits the plague bearer again.  Sadak from behind shot a magic missile and injures the plague bearer.  Undeterred by these attacks, the plague bearer joined forces with the giant skeleton bonehead and attack blog goth.  The barbarian couldn't resist their attacks, and falls down unconscious to the floor.  Immediately the fighter slashes at the plague bearer, finally bringing it down for good!  The cleric, seeing his friend blog goth on the floor moved upon him, curing him of his wounds.  Back into the fight, blog goth strikes bonehead with his flail, giving the skeleton's bones a good shake.  Angered by this, the giant skeleton slashes back and injures the barbarian slightly.  Another fire suddenly leapt from the mage's hands as it scorched down the chamber upon the remaining plague bearer, still controlled by magical terrible fear.  all that remains of the plague bearer are ashened charred remains.  Magnus swings his glaive with mighty force, and bonehead falls down in a heap of shattered bones.  Among the cadaverous remains, sadak finds 118 gp and 127 gp from different corpses.  Lysander picks up a longsword and 112 gp, while the barbarian pockets 127 gp.  In a coffin the cleric finds 183 gp among the cobwebs while in some barrels sadak and blog goth find 48 gp and 33 gp respectively.

Session 7 [4 march 2005]:

They go back up to Tristram, the barbarian visibly diseased from the festering wounds submitted by the plague bearers.  He had to remain in bed for some days while the others sold the unwanted stuff.  When back on his feet, his face seemed to be scarred by the gangrenous disease!

Going back down they open the last door into a small room (I).  Immediately the sorcerer casts a mage-armor upon himself to help boost his defence, while the cleric uses the wand to cast a shield of faith on himself too.  The fighter hits one of the ghouls injuring him slightly while it moves towards the barbarian.  However blog goth was ready for him and slashed him with his gladius.  The ghoul attacks Magnus and hits him, then it moves to the cleric and the fighter wouldn't let it pass without first giving it a bash with his halberd.  Sadak approaches the ghouls and scorches the ghouls with his flaming hands.  Two of the ghouls get badly injured while the first one to attack the party goes down.  The cleric finishes off the second ghoul while blog goth closes distance with the other and hits the ghoul with his sword.  Magnus steps in front of the advancing ghoul to block it from attacking the mage.  He swings his halberd and hits the ghoul, chipping his head off his neck.  Another ghoul lunges towards the fighter but he deflected its attack.  suddenly, rotcarnage appears from the dark shadows.  Its does not miss an attack on the fighter, but sadak immediately bombards it with a magical missile.  The cleric engages the ghoul and hits him, with the undead getting wounded more from the sharp barbarian's weapon!  Lysander finishes off the ghoul.  In the meanwhile, some distance away, rotcarnage attacks the fighter but its claws ended into the fighter's buckler.  Sadak shoots another missile.  Lysander joins the fray and hits rotcarnage.  Blog goth does not hesitate to inflict some wounds upon the monster too.  The fighter's halberd wounds the ghoul really bad, however he manages to slash at the cleric, injuring him slightly.  Another missile suddenly bolts directly into rotcarnage, he staggers and falls.  Lysander finds 154 gp under one of the corpses, while in a barrel blog goth finds 60 gp and sadak finds a magical heavy pick.  Returning back to the surface, deckard cain identifies the pick as being a rusted pick of worth.
