KALEIDOSCOPE

define contradiction -
fragments making a whole
pieces of a puzzle always fit
calm and light the horizon
upon troubled sea, beauty
makes every particle of water
in the air, infinite the space
endless the love,
endless you and me.

spoken words
smiles, tears
written phrases
right through me
poems to carry
on the wing of a wind
thoughts to flow
down the river
shaping magic
with the touch of a finger
freedom comes with every breath
sunrise over misty hills
all the colors of the rainbow
at the feet of Olympus
light as a feather, the boat
light as a golden sunrise
down on the green grass
collecting the sun in dewdrops --
your words were always butterflies
melting on my tongue
your eyes were always stars
I watched and tried to define
your soul was always a mirror
an ocean waving back at me
whispering, wondering
and our feet bare in the sand --
dreams web stretched between
cotton clouds flocks of sheep
birds jumping all around
and stories, purple flowers
on the lake, late in the night
collecting heartbeats in my palm
fly.

deepest well to drink the
clearest water -
all it takes is
everything

songful apple
to sleep on your knees -
my home

words don't always come easily
sometimes
they stumble
where everything else begins.
