Time stood still
as rain stopped pouring
under the rusty house roof
clouds were chasing
giant dreams reflected in ponds
hardly deeper than a finger
and tree branches entangled
beneath his feet.
"I'll be back" he said then,
and time stood still
as silence broke like window glass
beneath her feet.
She looked for a light
in his eyes looking
far away into distance
over hills, somewhere
beneath the rainbow's feet
"I know." Clouds gathered
in flocks, descending
heaven's luminous
transparency.
"I will be waiting", her voice
trembled, and she
kissed his palms gathering
her breaths.

Time stood still
on the path that cut
the fields in two
beneath his footsteps
gathering up
silence.
