BACK
I wish today was that day

I wish today was that day
we've dreamed about so long,

every footstep between us
a heartbeat calling the other
every thought resounding
in the silence left behind
every written word, a tremble
mirrorring two souls awaiting
one embrace

So I've taken heartbeats
one by one, in my hand,
and confined them to paper
then folded it - a plane
the wind stretched its wing
and made it fly away
float over gardens and treetops
every word pulsating
like a flying ant
each small dot
containing in its roundness
infinity. My love,
I'm writing you
with cotton clouds and firy sunsets
with green fields and dreams
with kisses that fall - joyfully -
snowflakes, sunbeams, raindrops, nights
and yellow wings of butterflies
scattering stardust in your way
with silky fingers
drawing on your back on the same line
a ladybug walked before when
my eyes first ever touched you

I wish tonight was that night
silvery night
of full moon, galaxies, fingers
playing through your hair
an endless stare...

So I sit here
anxiously
awaiting
while someplace else
two waves that followed each other
since they emerged
from the bottomheart of the ocean
always holding hands

reached for the sand.
