An intorduction to the world of Eye TV....
Three young, talented musicians - Sean Sturm (guitar), Mike Scott (bass) and Mark Pollard (drums) got together to form 'The Nixons' who release albums Eye TV and Special Downtime. The band tours New Zealand extensively enjoying great response.

In 1995 long-time friend Luke Casey steps in to replace departing Mark Pollard. The band look into touring America but discover that there is already an American band called 'The Nixons'. This prompts a name change and the three-some become Eye TV.

Eye TV tour America, Australia and New Zealand throughout 1995 and 1996 prompting fantastic response from punters once more. In October 1997 the first album under the new band name and involving the new band make up is released, called Birdy-O. Four singles are released from this album including Wish It All Away in 1998 which proves to be the band's most successful song up to that point.

In 1999 Eye TV rock the main stage at the troubled Sweetwaters festival and search for a new member to add depth to the music and live performances. They find exactly what they are looking for in keyboardist Grant Winterburn and he joins the group. Also in 1999 Eye TV's new single Just The Way It Is is released to great reponse and it spends 20 weeks in the Top 20.

Following this an anthology of the band's history is released in an interactive CD package entitled As Far As The Eye TV. It features tracks from the Eye TV, Special Downtime and Birdy-O albums as well as previously unreleased tracks. New song One Day Ahead becomes the band's next single and this is released in May 2000. This song flies high in the New Zealand charts reaching the fabulous #9 position!

August 2000 sees a successful promotional trip to Germany and the release of new album Fire Down Below in September.

In 2001 Eye TV have completed a successful tour of New Zealand in support of young popsters Zed and have released The Doo Song as a single complete with stylish video.
