Every Herbie fan should know about the Love Bug TV movie aired in 1997. Here is a pic:

This is a good photo to show you many wrong things. There are alot. Here are them listed:

The license plate is bolted on, unlike the other movies, where the license plate is "hooked" on.

The "53" is too high up! It is too small and the wrong font. You can tell it's small because the "3" part doesn't go over the stripes the whole way. It also runs UNDER the metal strip running down the hood.

The stripes are wrong. The red is too thin, the white is a little too thick, and the blue is too thick.

The sunroof is next. The stripes DON'T run over it. It's also the wrong color. It's too light.

The next one isn't so obvious. You'd probably have to see the movie for this one. The interior is the wrong color. In the original, his interior is supposed to be gray-leatherette-style. Here, it's not! It looks like its cloth. The color appears beige.

These articles are from several Hot VWs and VW Trends issues. In the last one, the Herbie on the side was at a car show. It belongs to the Jess' who are well known for their VW Enthusiasm. The pic there had nothing to do with Herbie '97. I just thought it would be a nice little extra.

Isn't it kind of coincidental that the new Herbie movie aired a month before the New Beetle introduction? Isn't it also weird that Disney and VW have some kind of deal? Notice: the New Bugs in Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. There is a red Bug in Freaky Friday. There's the Microbus Camper in You Lucky Dog. In Mighty Joe Young, the gorilla picks up a VW Cabriolet. In the newer "The Shaggy Dog", there is a 70's Bug convertible where the "bad" dog lives (when the rottweiler chases Willoughby and the dogcatchers are running out of a driveway). There is also a white Bug on Willoughby's street, which I heard was a Bug used in Herbie '97. There are alot of other VW's in the background of many Disney Movies.
