Kodak Brownie 127 Rollfilm Camera This was the first camera I owned and was purchased from Boots the Chemist on Argyle Street in Glasgow in 1956. I think it cost about 35 shillings (the U.S. price was about $4.75). The camera was made in England and millions were sold. Made of smooth molded plastic, it was introduced in 1952 and discontinued in 1959. It used type 127 film and gave a picture size of 2.5" x 1.625" (63.5cm x 41.27cm). The lens was a single-element type fixed at f/14 with a focal length of 65mm. (Equivalent to 36mm on a 35mm camera.) The shutter speed was fixed at 1/50 sec. Unfortunately, I've lost nearly all the pictures I took with this camera, but here's one that remains. It was taken in 1959.
