Obituary
We are sorry to say that on September 1, we had to give up our only sister. Thanks to Drs. Gregory and Vinyard and the many friends who carefully rendered all possible assistance during her illness.
Seven years ago, when our brother, aged 22, died, it seems that sister could not be satisfied until she persuaded had helped us to write his obituary; then how can we forget her? A few years later, her son, little Willie, was laid to rest in his earthly bed in the same cemetary. But little did we know that her calling would be next. Then all we can do and hope for, is to live as sister has lived, so that we may meet in the happy home beyond. We thank Brother Spivey for the selection of such an appropriate subject and text for the funeral service.
Sister was born July 12, 1875, at the old house where her parents, Allen E. and Mary J. Love still live and where she lived until the age of 20 years, when she was united in marriage to Charles F. Vinyard of Karber's Ridge. To this union was born four children, two girls and two boys, all of whom survive her except the oldest. At age of 17 years united with the M.E. church at Karber's Ridge, where she lived a loyal member until a few years ago, when according to the custom of that church in moving membership, she drew her letter and had not deposited it with any religious body on earth: but that her name was written the Book of the Great Recorder above is not doubted by those who knew her.
