| Scabies: More Help and Advice: | |||||
| If you're a person who didn't really have acne as a teenager, but have suddenly developed "mystery" skin bumps or endless "bad skin", read the following article."It's NOT acne!!" While doing research to try and find out what on earth was going on with my own skin, I found this e-mail and several reports on this very common skin parasite. After spending thousands of dollars on acne treatments, dermatologists, lasers, facials, etc., did i finally figure out the cause and was able to heal my skin. I am noticing more and more people with the same problem and I want to extend the information I've found, in hopes of helping someone else to have clear skin. I am not a doctor, and I am required to add this statement: The following information is meant as an educational aid only. It is not intended as a medical advice for individual conditions or treatments. Speak to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist before following any medical regimen to see if it is safe and effective for you. I am not charging anything for this information. I don't want a thing. I am donating the information I've received after months of investigations, and the treatments I've used which have worked, only in hopes of helping more people out there who may be frustrated by their seemingly endless bouts of "bad skin". Unfortunately, the USA is one of the only countries in which a prescription is needed for this medicine. Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, France, United Kingdom, and most of Europe have these products easily available over the counter. Self Diagnosis: In the beginning stages, you may start to notice tiny bumps on your face, and your hairline which resemble pimples. You may feel itchy at night when you go to bed. Scabies has an incubation period of 3 weeks, which is why it seems to clear up, then return again. This is also why acne lasers seem to work because initially they kill the mite, and some of the eggs with heat, but then they return again, from another area of the body. A person who has been infested for many months may have tiny, pin-sized bumps on the tops of their arms, chest, and shoulders, which may feel a bit like you have sand, or salt crystals under your skin, or an area of skin which used to feel soft, but now feels a bit like a cat's tongue. Many times it will resemble "goosebumps" which doesn't go away. These are mite eggs/fecal pellets. Scabies mites are microscopic, the eggs are barely visible to the eye. It's important to know that Scabies is not contracted by lack of cleanliness. It doesn't matter if you are a person who showers 4 times per day and has a perfectly clean household. Scabies is a highly contagious mite which can affect people from all socioeconomic levels without regard to age, sex, race or standards of personal hygiene, and can be transmitted by; sharing clothing, hats, towels, bed linens, or skin to skin contact, such as; Moderately prolonged contact such as holding hands, dancing and sexual activity Sharing a bed or towels. It may also be caught from furniture which an infected person was sitting in before you. Many people do not know for months that they are infected, or in denial that they could ever catch such a thing. If others around you have the same symptoms, "It's probably NOT acne!!" |

| Common Misdiagnosis:
Scabies can imitate many other skin conditions, such as insect bites, hives, eczema, folliculitis, contact or atopic dermatitis, impetigo, rosacea, psoriasis, lymphoma, and drug reactions. For some reason, many doctors are unable to diagnose this properly in it's early stages because it resembles so many other things. Also; many doctors are informed to check in the "classic textbook" spots; between fingers, toes, armpits which is an extremely outdated method. A skin scraping may be taken to look for mites, eggs, or mite fecal matter (scybala) to confirm the diagnosis. Even if a skin scraping or biopsy is taken and returns negative, it is still possible that you may be infested. Typically, there are fewer than 10 mites on the entire body of an infested person; this makes it easy for an infestation to be missed. However, persons with Norwegian, or crusted, scabies can be infested with thousands of mites and should be considered highly infectious. In some cases dermatologists also practicing cosmetic procedures can make a huge profit selling Acne Laser Treatments at $400./ea, recommending 4-5 treatments. Or salons prescribing several hundred dollars worth of facials & products to make your skin better. If you had perfect skin, they'd be out of business! I hear most patients say that they were improperly diagnosed at least 4 times before the problem became bad enough to easily recognize that this was a skin mite, and by that time, they had infested their entire family. Now, I'm not saying all that doctors are dishonest, so if you are an ethical doctor reading this, please do not take offense, thank you, we need more of you out there! Your body produces an allergic reaction to the fecal matter that a scabies mite produces, which is what causes your skin itch, thus resembling an allergic reaction or pustule. Antihistamines and acne medicines will seem to work somewhat initially because they are destroying the bacteria which is produced around the egg/feces, however they do not cure the actual problem. The "acne laser" does seem to work short term because it does kill the mites/eggs below the skin surface with heat, and the skin temporarily clears up, however, if this is not acne, the problem will return, rendering the expensive laser treatments useless. These days, with HDTV, you may be seeing some of your favorite artists covered with acne type bumps on their skin. I definitely can name a few. This is not because they don't have the money to buy the best products, facials, and laser treatments on the market to have great skin... It is because they are unaware that what they may possibly have is actually a skin mite! No matter how many thousands of dollars spent at the aestitition; this won't solve their skin if the problem is scabies. CLICK HERE FOR PAGE 3 - "TREATMENTS" |
