Carl Marx noticed that despite the US being in the “new world,” it
displayed characteristics of more primitive stages of society. The plantation
slavery of that time was similar to the slave industry of ancient Rome. Not much
has changed when you think about this Christmas raid on mom-and-pop stores that
were centers of culture for a community, and even sold the fabled incense from
Yemen right here in the shadows of the Rouge Steel Plant. The Romans couldn’t
have done better than these 60 Federal Customs Agents today, even if they had
had their centurions arrest the three wise men carrying gold, (from Africa), incense
(from Yemen) and myrrh (from Yemen) to the Christ Child.
The Patriot act fosters this kind of culture bashing. Abolish the Patriot Act.
