Dublin Historic Neighborhood Association Meeting Minutes
January 30, 2005 3:00 p.m. Laurens County Library


Called to order by DHNA President, Harold B. Cline, Jr. He welcomed the group to the meeting then stated the purpose and goals of the organization. He appointed Melanie Gunn, Vice President, and Donna Phillips, Secretary, pending officer elections at the next scheduled meeting.

After discussion a motion was approved by the group to authorize the executive board to voice the group�s opposition to the rezoning of 402 Ramsey Street from R-1 to R-4 and 709 Euclid Avenue from R-1 to Professional Business.

A motion was made to establish a �Neighborhood Identity Committee� that would develop ways and means to further unite residents of the historic neighborhood. After discussion, the motion passed and the following members were named to the committee:  Jane K. Smith, Frenassee Daugherty, and Patrick O�Byrne.

Jane K. Smith, Tidbits publisher, volunteered to publicize information about the association.

A motion was made to establish a �Neighborhood Improvement Committee� that would examine current laws and ordinances that affect the neighborhood and recommend ways to improve the physical appearance and public image of the district. After discussion, the motion passed and the following members were named to the committee:  Jody Fulghum, Melanie Gunn, Mary Jo Nemzek, Tina Ivey, and Donna Phillips.

These committees will meet and report back at the next general meeting.

The next meeting will be held at the Laurens County Library. Minutes are subject to approval at the next meeting.
