These L2 camcorders have a quirk about them that may not be common knowledge that you may want to be aware of as you proceed with this sale. If you have never had a lense on this camera, to verify that the optical-capture devices are funtioning, there is no certain way to know if this camcorder would funtion as a camcorder. The guirk of these L2's is that as they age the capacitors wear out and the CCD image capture device stops functioning. I have one of these that failed in that manner. The viewfinder display still shows information about the camera's internal functions but no image displays on the viewfinder of what should be seen through the lense. I would be happy to bid on this item if this possible exception be regarded in terms of sale and return. I have an L2 lense that could be borrowed to check this camcorder but cost of transport may not seem of value to you, especially if you can find a lense locally to verify the absence of this common failure. dzg2a

There is a clue to failed caps, which i just noticed with the L2 i'm replacing. When i powered it up I could smell an oder familiar to me of electrical component failure. I smelled it most around the lense area. If you can't test with a lense, would you agree to offering a return option, if i have the winning bid, and it is not functional? dzg2a

Hello. When I powered this unit on multiple times, I did not smell anything hot or burning. I can not guarantee that this unit is completely functional. Another customer told me that without a lens you cant tell if the capacitors are good. I can not promise a refund or a return but we will do right by our customers. Thanks1! Audra DGD Inc

So when i get the item will there be contact information included which will be yours or should i refer back to this e-mail address? What i plan to do before putting a lense on is to check the playback capabilities of the deck and then put an OEM lense on it. I only have an 8-120mm lense, it will give me all the functions needed to verify if this unit is functioning. Thanks for your help on this.dzg2a

The item arrived, and to my delight it can capture an image through a lense. I was a bit worried when it came with the CCD exposed, with no cap for the lense socket. The functions of the camcorder for control of the lense seems to be working. The record/playback function works to a degree, this is probably what got the comcorder retierd, scratchy playback. Thanks for the prompt shipment. To be fair to other buyers, feedback for this transaction will be neutral due to the vast functionality mystery on a item that should be thoroughly evaluated before being listed as a functional unit. However, thanks for filling in some of the details and getting it here with obvious care for its packaging.

Hello. After your emails, and us replying to you on multiple occasions, I would have thought you would have emailed us if you had a problem. You did not. I told Audra she should NEVER have stated to you in her reply to you that we "always take care of our customers" on an AS IS item. I stated to her if he replies after getting the item we will have to bend over backwards to take care of this buyer even tho you are selling it "AS IS" because you gave him the impression we would take care of it. Then you do not even give us any opportunity to help you. You obviously planned on leaving poor feedback prior to end of the auction. I am barring you from bidding on any more of my auction and ask you leave eBay since you obviously are not cut out to buy anything on this venue and be happy.

Please pardon my misunderstanding of the term neutral, it was not intended to be negative feedback. I saw no need to email you immediately since no problem existed, the item arrived and it powered up, that is what you promised. I was relieved that it worked as an image capturing device, my gamble paid off, so there seemed no need to venture into your customer care offer which was a gracious gesture. However, your accusation of my intention to leave poor feedback is quite inaccurate, I had no such intention. The comment i included with the neutral feedback was not intended as negative, it was just an expression of what I expect from sellers who use the "as is" sale option. The original wording was; "More info could have been provided......" I would change it back to that if i could. This is not possible, or so it seems but it still does not warrant your scathing and inaccurate feedback. I could dispute this. Have a nice day and thanks for the item. dzg2a (pg.1 resolution effot)
