The town of New Freedom, PA is the highest point on the trail. Coming from the south there is a noticeable grade reaching this point. It seems very gentle coming from the north. We bicycled round trip on the Heritage Trail one day and round trip on the North Central Trail on another day.
There is a small restaurant for snacks here. The little towns in PA are a nice diversion from the trail and totally different from the trail experience in Maryland.
