The home page for the trailhas links to a map, pictures, and info on the trail. It is important to click on the link "Construction and Detours". There are two one mile sections under construction and repair during the fall of 2004 and spring of 2005.
The The Massachusetts Bikeways page has maps of all trails on Cape Cod. There are two large maps of the Cape Cod Ral Trail. These maps are larger and show more roads than the official web page map. Click on UPPER TRAIL MAP and LOWER TRAIL MAP.
The Claire Saltonstall Bikeway is a marked road route across the entire cape which connects the Canal Bikeway with the Mid Cape Trail and the Cape Cod National Seashore bike paths with the Mid Cape Trail. This route can be used for a trip combining the Cape Cod Rail Trail and the Cape Cod Seashore Trails.

In the fall of 2003 we and a tandem couple, Ruth and Dick Nocross, spent two days riding on the Cape Cod Canal Bikeway and the Mid Cape Rail Trail between Dennis and Orleans. Spring and fall are good times to go the cape to avoid crowds and high prices.
In the spring of 2005, Kay and Dale Knapschaefer then 81 and 78 years old went on a two day trip covering the tail between Orleans and Wellfleet, the Cape Cod National Seashore bike paths, and the Harwich Chatham Rail Trail.
