The northern end of the national park towpath connects directly with the bike path in the Ohio and Erie Canal Reservation which is part of the Cleveland Metro Parks. The path here follows the canal for six miles, almost to the southern border of Cleveland. The paths in Cleveland Metro Parks are wide and paved. The southern two miles is in a commercial area close to a heavily traveled road and is not pretty. It crosses two busy highways where care is needed. There are several restaurants close to the path in this area.
