Places I visited while preparing for my MBA
 
For instance, when I had Hyderabad as the center for one of the college entrance examination, I decided to include Pondicherry and Madras and ended up with an extremely interesting trip. Similarly, I went to Bhopal, Sanchi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune and Baroda. I went to all these places alone, and co-indentally, met somebody at most of these places who offered to show me around. It ended up being an extremely interesting experience, and left me half wondering whether I should invest another year in preparing for my MBA exams :-)

 

Pondicherry  
I will never be able to forget the cafe on the seaside in Pondicherry, which had the sea on three sides. One of my favourite past times there, was to sit on the verandah with a cup of coffee and a book (the view and the breeze made up for the coffee which was usually cold).
The other highlights Pondicherry include Auroville, and the Aurobindo Ashram. I was fortunate to be in Pondicherry on February 29, one of the few days the complete ashram is open to the public (as opposed to only the samadhi area normally). Auroville is an extremely interesting experiment in internationalism, and the Maitri Mandir is definitely among the more imposing structures that I have seen.
 
Madras  
I did not get a chance to see too much of Madras. because I was running out of money (having extended my trip more than I had planned for), but I definitely did not like the Marina beach. The Guindi Snake Park too was a bit of a disappointment - the enclosures seemed too small for the poor snakes. King George's Museum however was pretty interesting.
