Hi, My name is Faith. This is my Top 10 Rock Song List. This is a fun list that I try to post weekly featuring a new themed top 10 list of songs I pick. I consider requests from friends and family, so if anyone has a great idea let me know. I do research to give proper credit to each of my song choices. If you enjoy my lists, that's great. It's just entertainment. If you disagree with my choices, that's cool too. I'm all for free thinking, and I'm open to ideas and suggestions. Feel free to sign my guestbook, but vulgarities will not be posted. You can also send me an IM through Yahoo Messenger. My user name is dhippiechick. Have a great week!

Just because my birthday is this Tuesday, I'm going to be especially self-indulgent this week and feature my own favorite bands and my favorite songs by each of them. Next week, I'll pick a more interesting theme. I'm open to requests and ideas in the meantime.
My Top 10 Favorite Bands

10. Tool
Favorite Song: "Hooker with a Penis" (Album: "Aenima," 1996)
Comments: The song, while it can be considered vulgar by many because of the language, it's not vulgar in the way one would expect by the title. For those who don't know: the song is about selling out as an artist. As for the band, I've been a fan since their first major single "Sober." Maynard James Keenan's vocals give me shivers.

9. The Used
Favorite Song: "Taste of Ink" (Album: "The Used," 2002)
Comments: I saw The Used live on the "Project Revolution Tour" at the Smirnoff Theater in Dallas last summer, and I was instantly a fan.

8. Led Zeppelin
Favorite Song: "Over the Hills and Far Away" (Album: "Houses of the Holy," 1973)
Comments: My mother has always been a big Led Zeppelin fan, but I defiantly refused to embrace their music until I was in my late teens. This song is the one song most responsible for me getting the idea to buy an acoustic guitar and attempt to learn to play it.

7. Toadies
Favorite Song: "Possum Kingdom (Album: "Rubberneck," 1994)
Comments: This song, about a vampire, in my opinion is the sexiest song I know. The band is now separated and the singer, V. Todd Lewis is now singing in the Burden Brothers, also an impressive band.

6. Alice In Chains
Favorite Song: "Would?" (Album: "Dirt," 1992)
Comments: This is the song that completely won me over as a fan. I had heard a few songs before, but wasn't bowled over yet. After I bought this album, I started to listen to the first album too.

5. Green Day
Favorite Song: "Hitchin' a Ride" (Album: "Nimrod," 1997)
Comments: I became a fan when just about everybody else did: in 1994, when the album "Dookie" brought them into the mainstream. I can't really explain why this song is my favorite.

4. Linkin Park
Favorite Song: "Faint" (Album: "Meteora,"2003)
Comments: Linkin Park is like no other band. They are trendsetters, rather than trend followers. This song is so unusual, and I love the line, "I won't be ignored."

3. Eve 6
Favorite Song: "Inside Out" (Album: "Eve 6," 1998)
Comments: This is the song that started my obsession with Eve 6. The first time I heard it as a new video on MTV, I was hooked.

2. Nirvana
Favorite Song: "Big Long Now" (Album: "Incesticide," 1992)
Comments: Nirvana is a band I was hooked on from the first time I heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit." I love this song most because of the haunting guitar riffs, repeated over and over.

1. The Beatles
Favorite Song: "Across the Universe" (Album: "Let It Be," 1970)
Comments: I was raised a Beatles fan, thanks to my dad, and I'm proud to say that I've raised my daughter a Beatles fan too. As a hippie, I love the serenity of this song.
