Restaurants and Eateries
Jeddah has seen incredible development in the food industry. There are many restaurants
and eateries around that will suit every taste and palate. In Jeddah you will find superb
restaurants catering for every style and taste - International, European and Local dishes
are prepared wherever you go. Some personal favorite places are described below.
Al Ahlam Marine and Park
|
Al Ahlam in Arabic means Dreams. Al Ahlam is located by the Red Sea.
Here one can spend a half day or whole day, perhaps combining a little
fishing with a little diving and then a couple of hours at the
marina's restaurants. It has five different sections
The Wave Marina Island is composed of seats divided all the way,
which gives this wave marina island a sense of privacy and comfort
and surely a unique view of the red sea. You can feel the special
impression by its seats situated in the middle of the sea, surrounded
by waves from all sides. |

This restaurant is serviced from their main kitchens by its own special
waiters. The area is the most popular and famous one at the marina
because of its underwater lighting giving it a unique aspect, and its
quite romantic atmosphere.These seats are floating ones, giving a very
beautiful feeling, surely fixed, based on a solid marina.
Moreover, there is a mini coffee shop, centered in the middle.

Then there is the Floating Island . This island is surrounded
by greenery, accessed from its floating pontoon by a small bridge,
giving it a very restful and quite ambiance.
Another restaurant you can find here is the the Indoor Family Restaurant
This is a classy and closed area,
containing few seating booths, each with their own TV, surrounded by
greenery giving it a distinct atmosphere. To the front and side of this most charming
restaurant is the children's playground containing sits on wobble toys, and to the side
a games room with a variety of electronic games such as racing cars, airplanes etc.

Another area has the Static Yacht Restaurant . This is a unique three deck wooden yacht,
fixed at the marina where visitors can enjoy their dinner, lunch or shisha
on the upper opened floor with its direct sea view. Deck 1 is an Italian/French
restaurant, serving you the best meals prepared by their own Italian chef.
Deck 2 is composed of two parts. The first is seafood's restaurant and the second
is a private area for high class and VIP people where the finest food can be served
also.

Deck 3 is the relaxation deck, facing the red sea, where you can relax, smoke
shisha, have a cocktail and wait for your food to be prepared. The Terrazzo
is a dockside restaurant composed of many seatings in an open plain
style with a direct view to the Red Sea and has a few privacy booths for
more intimate dining.

Chilis
|
Chilis is a Tex-Mex restaurant that offers a distinct, fresh and healthy mix of
grilled american favourites. It is a great place to hangout with friends and family
and enjoy a delicious meal. The menu includes mouth watering starters (like
nachos, garlic cheese bread, and fries), Soups and Salads, Pittas stuffed with your choice of
filling, Sizzling Fajitas, Guiltless Grills and Big Mouth Burgers. Regardless of what is ordered,
Chilis always puts an interesting twist on the food.

To top it all off, the desserts are sinful.
The not to miss choice is the Molten Chocolate Cake, which is a rich devil's food cake
with chocolate fudge filling, served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

The Green Island
|
This restaurant has a panoramic view on the Red Sea where you can
enjoy watching a mandarin sun slip beyond the rim of the sea. Perched on top of the reef,
a series of dining rooms offer International, Arabic and Indian cuisine with a breath taking
view of the line of white foam perpetually breaking over the reef as the sea rolls in.
One can choose to sit at the large tables on the lawn, by the pool or on the terrace overlooking the reef.
Also offered is a special setting for gents beside the sea to enjoy smoking Shisha (water pipe) in the open air.

Nando's

Nando's is a global phenomenon with over 400 restaurants around the world in locations
as diverse as Kilburn and Karachi. Here you can discover and experience traditional
Portuguese hospitality in a fun atmosphere. The signature menu item at Nando's is a
Portuguese speciality, PERi-PERi chicken.
PERi-PERi, is the Mozambican name for the African Birds-Eye Chilli,
a small pungent chilli variety that grows throughout Africa. Delicious alternatives and additions to PERi-PERi chicken include chicken breast burgers
and pitas, prego steak rolls, vegetarian and bean burgers, chicken livers, Mediterranean
and Ceasar salads, corn on the cob and famous old-style chips.
