The beach is a world of its own with it's extensive attractions. The Corniche is the city's most impressive and pleasing features. Taking advantage of it's long Red Sea shore, the city has constructed a three- part Corniche, 20 miles in length, which provides recreational facilities and superb views of the sea.
Sun falls in the Sea! |
The Corniche is dotted all over with private beaches, restaurants, playgrounds, amusement parks and picnic sites. During the day it is quiet but at sunset it springs into life. The most beautiful sunset in the World can be seen here. The sun gets low on the horizon and you can watch the sun fall into the sea! The seaside is a good place to take a long walk. Walking around is very safe as there are no homeless people or drunk people around because consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the Kingdom. |
| Also once the heat of the day has dissipated the beach becomes a bustling hive of activity. It comes alive with decorated camels and horses ready to be rode and quad bikes rented and driven manically up and down the beach. Also people are seen here picnicking and barbequing giving them an opportunity to get together with family and friends. At certain points, the beach is also popular with wind and kitesurfers. It is a fantastic experience just to pack a picnic, take a rug or two, some cusions and and join in. |
Camel Ride |
Part of the Corniche becomes a blaze of coloured lights and reminds one of the Blackpool illuminations. The famous seafront is transformed into a wonderland of colour, making it look very beautiful. The beach is really a great place to pass your time.
