| Through Rose Colored Glass' In a hotel room, a thousand miles away From his heart he left behind Another lonely night has turned to another lonely day For him it will soon be time He looks in the mirror at the face he's put on disquised Certain without doubt he can fool the mass' If he can only hide his eyes Shoots on the cologne, forces an absent hearted smile Reachs for his keys and his rose colored glass' He knows that people wonder, why the glass' on such a cloudy day But he's locked into his own world too much to care, let them think what they may Outside in the real world, he forces himself to smile While inside he hides the tears he's crying He thinks of her with each second passing all the while And he knows that inside, he is slowly dieing After the day he returns to the room again to start this over again once more He wonders to himself when this will finally end Takes off his glass' and quietly closes the door He ponders to himself if there will be a tommorow for him Will he still be able to fool the mass' And the once again, he closes his eyes and opens his dreams sees them again, through his rose...colored glass' Copyright -2001 Dennis Hicks |
