| Poetic Wisdom With head held high I trudge along through lifes trials and tribulations Adding a word here and another there With a verse to be the end result a stanza Tis I that rely, on my past transgressions To foster my poetic wisdom Amazed the words can make their way Through the scars of yesteryear From the heart to the paper relentlessly onward, they trudge Never hesitating to allow all to see inside the heart Allowing the critics to be the judge Somewhere along lifes path I have emerged with very few answers And a bundle of soul searching questions Yet, no poet ever said it would be easy Never was this a suggestion So tonight, Ill write Using all the happiness and sadness The ambivalence will steadfastly emerge from me In addition, Ill give thanks to God, for it comes from him This poetic wisdom from within, poetic wisdom he has chosen meto lend Copyright -2001 Dennis Hicks All Rights Reserved by Author |
