| The Poets Harbor Quiet serenity echoes the night Three in the morning And all is well In The Poets Harbor Words flow while I dream of a distant ship named Love Stars dance in the sky Lonely hearts cry Sea winds blow, as I know, the sound that I hear Is of the waves crashing love on the rocks Same as loves before both written and lived To the ocean, Ill add my own salted tear The words flow easily, while I notice the lighthouse The foghorn calls out for lost souls or ships Its lips kissing the fog with a lonely sound Its light rotating round and round While I, stay safe and sound and write it down Here, In my poets harbor As I guide my ship, Into the waterfront of The Poets Harbor I check my mind at the door For my heart and soul Are all thats needed for this vessel to sail As the ink on the paper begins to flail This poets soul pours out an emotional ride Screams words at the moon while ebbs the tide Nestled am I, herein my poets harbor Copyright -2001 Dennis Hicks All Rights Reserved by Author |
