| The Eagles Fly As I walked today Down a city sidewalk My attention was draw to the sky above There, an eagle soared He was just somewhat suspended, not very high I watched him in amazement, clouds served as background in the sky And as he circled directly above me I felt that he, was watching I We both rather moved along together Almost in a rhythm, as if we were practicing the same dance At this time, I noticed another eagle probably a quarter mile away I chalked it up as circumstance, as the first eagle was directly over my head His feathers spread, as he continued circling, as though something to me, he had to say And as I took my eye off the sky For I had arrived at my destination And was about to go into this point and place When came upon me a starring sensation I turned back my eye, towards the sky my face But the eagles were gone, I felt so alone They had vanished into thin airwithout a trace Copyright -2001 Dennis Hicks All Rights Reserved by Author |
