The world is desperately in need of a naturally-sustainable society that is more in harmony with Earth and the order of nature, and that prepares us to meet the serious challenges we face in the fast-approaching Post Petroleum and Post Info-Tech Eras. 

These are challenges that economists and political experts agree could threaten the very existence of the human species.

The keys to implementing the Global Dharma Vision at the national, state and local level are being presented to Dharma Institute's Patron Member Nation-States in a book titled, The Global Executive Manual for Secular-Spiritual Development, authored by Prabhupadacarya Dasa (Dharma Institute Director) and soon-to-be published by the Dharma Institute (click here to place a standing order).

DHARMA - THE NEW GLOBAL PARADIGM

Dharma Institute revolutionizes our understanding of life, the universe and the self with its Global Dharma Vision that presents the world with a new approach to the environment and our individual and collective duties in relationship with nature. 

The Sanskrit word dharma has three inter-related meanings: 1) dharma means nature, 2) dharma means duty, and 3) dharma means our duty to nature based on our individual psycho-physical nature. 

PRIME INTEREST OF THE STATE

The ideological basis for the new Global Human Society corrects the erroneous presumption of modern society that places economic development as the prime interest of the state by clearly establishing that,

 "Spiritual development alone defines the unique functional trait of the human species differentiating us from all other species of life, thus making spiritual development the unarguable prime interest of human society." 

Economic development is an important, yet secondary interest with good reason. When you make economic development the prime interest, is ironically, the exact moment when the process of global destruction begins. In the name of developing we end up destroying. 

This is the very nature of greed according to the Indian statesman Canakya Pandita. who clues us in his Niti-sastra that "Greed not only causes loss of profits, but destroys our investment capital as well." This makes good sense. You overprice yourself in the market, sales plummet, and you start selling off equipment to meet the overhead until you go bankrupt. End of the business.

Globally we are experiencing the same dynamics in the form of destruction of the environment, daily eradication of entire species of life, deforestation, toxic waste, pollution, water shortages, and so on. The natural resources of the planet constitute the investment capital we have been given to work with by the Creator and in the name of economic development it is being rapidly eaten up. This destructive process must come to an abrupt end.

The key to success is keeping the overhead in check within the scope of your income. Presently less than 20% of the world's population is consuming over 80% of its resources. An unsustainable hedonistic culture of Consumerism is being globally proliferated in the name of so-called Globalization. Despite the superficial desirability and allure of such an opulent life of unrestricted sense enjoyment, this is not a culture that the world can afford. 

Dharma Institute is proposing "Dharma as the gateway to globalization" in place of hedonistic consumerism in order to save the planet from bankruptcy and the human species from going the way of the dinosaurs.

THE OPTIMAL SOCIAL SYSTEM

The best system for organizing human society for the purpose of achieving the prime interest of optimal spiritual growth is also presented by Dharma Institute in our Global Dharma Vision. 

Essentially the definition of our psycho-physical natures and their corresponding "prescribed duties" forms the socio-occupational basis for the new naturally sustainable Global Human Society. 

When an individual's nature is correctly identified and linked to an occupation that is in harmony with their nature the natural result is greater productivity, greater quality work, and greater job satisfaction.

Clinical scientific research using a system of written psycho-metric evaluations and published in leading international  journals of psychology has established the existence of a set of three psycho-physical character profiles found in the 5000 year old Sanskrit classic, Bhagavad-Gita, known as Sattva (goodness), Rajas (passion) and Tamas (ignorance).

The economic basis for the new Global Human Society is organic agriculture combined with naturally sustainable sources of traction power that guarantee the world global food security in the impending and inevitable Post Petroleum and Post Info-tech Eras.

The developed/ing world is poised for a Global Economic Correction, and when it strikes the protection of cows for traction power to manufacture and distribute food will no longer be a religious sentiment of Hindus, but a critical economic reality for the entire world.

INTEGRATED POLITICAL PROTOCOL (IPP)

Politically speaking, the new Global Human Society can theoretically be implemented by any nation, be it a democratic, communist, socialist or even a monarchical state.

Just as the Internet Protocol (IP) allows many diverse operating systems (ie. Mac, IBM, UNIX, Sun, etc) to communicate and function harmoniously on one integrated platform, so too the Global Dharma Vision for a Naturally Sustainable Global Human Society can unite and link all nations of the world to achieve a truly united planet without forcing everyone to adopt one operating system (ie. democracy, etc) or one religion.

This is amazingly achieved by defining our Common Culture of Consciousness and Common Human Culture to form the basis of the common identity needed for a united Global Human Society.

The critical failure of the UN to secure global peace amongst nations is found in its name. "United" means together, and "Nation" means separate, or in other words, "The United Separates". It sounds silly and that is precisely why it has failed to achieve peace in the world.

Maintaining separate identities leads to conflict based on separate interests, whereas adopting a common identity leads to unity, peace and cooperation for development on the basis of common interests. History and common sense proves this fact.
