The picture on the right (yes, that's the Burgher) was done before I wrote the story, and had a lot to do with me deciding to write it. The one on the left was done as a rough draft on the back of a notebook as I was writing it. I then did this version. The scene became part of the story as a result. I then did I larger version that you've see on the previous page (it's about 22x30").
To the left here are some Norse runes written on birch bark. I had to find out some Norse words, so I could write the note in Norse, with the runes. Of course the grammar is awful.
To the right is the Burgher's home. There was actually a place like that near where we lived in MD. |
