My wife was born and raised on a farm in West Virginia. There were four brothers and four sisters in her family. They had cattle, horses, chickens,dogs, and lot's of land to plow and plant. This was much of their food supply.
We began writing each other as pen pals while I was in Japan. A friend of hers that I had been writing got tired of writing me and gave her my address. We kept in constant touch with each other while I was in Japan and then while I was in Korea.
When I returned from Korea in December 1951, I went right to see her and we both "charmed" each other! A few weeks later we were married (January 8, 1952).
That love affair has lasted 55 years and we are ready to keep on as long as the Lord sees fit. We have four children, 3 boy's and one girl. They are all amrried and live here in Florida. They have given us 13 grand-children and we have 7 great grant children.
We have been Blessed to have been able to Pastor churches in both Alabama and Florida. Each one of our children married their mate in the various churches we Pastored. One in Okeechobee, Jacksonville, Fort Pierce, and in Lithia , all in Florida.
God has Blessed us with an enjoyable life. My wife has never had a serious illness. I had to have open heart surgery in 1993. My Aorta valve quit working and had to be replaced with a steel valve. I have been doing very well all of these years.
We retired from the Pastorial Ministry at that time. The Pastor of our local church has allowed me to assist him and so we are still involved in the ministry.
