Our Cross-Canada Trip
2002

The Confederation Bridge, linking the province of Prince Edward Island to the rest of Canada in New Brunswick. This photo was taken near Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick. The bridge, completed in 1997, is the longest bridge in the world over ice-covered waters. It is 12.9 kilometres (nearly 8 miles) long, stretching over Northumberland Strait, and is built to last 100 years.
