After a long lonely battle, and a painful fight,
The darkness was taken and replaced with light.
Then you came along, and opened another door.

Till the day when all was forced to stop on a dime.
A recent love that had past came and took you away.

or the painful feeling of waking up alone in my bed.
Now I have to pretend that I never cared,
And it hit me when I was totally unprepared.
Now I'm wishing you were here and I'm holding you in my arms.
Safe from all evil, and protecting you from harm.
But I can't because of the consequences that come with the lies,
And though it hurts me to do it, I must say good-bye.

Love Pushed Aside....Silly You!
My heart was for you, but you pushed it away.
I loved you from the time I met you, but you flushed my dreams away.
You gave me hope, you gave me love,
I tried my best, but it was never enough.
All the times I tried, and all the times I cried,
I could never make you see, what you truly meant to me.
You wrote me notes, you made me cards, but those were just images.
My heart was for you can't you see,
but you shattered my heart when you tried to give it back to me.
How could you say all those words you never meant?
How could you believe in something so far fetched?
Why did say those things so freely?
Did you want me to believe that you actually loved me?
I put you first, you put me last.
you put everything before me, and I've tried to put that in the past.
This is the end of what never begun,
you broke my heart, look what you've done!
Was I a replacement for someone who broke your heart?
How could you use me like that, and leave me with all these scars.

Nothing
So, now you want to know? but I'm not going to tell you
because you lost the right to know what I think when you left me in uncertainty
with your "I don't know" for a week.
You said you cared, but you left me here wondering, and crying.
How dare you treat a heart that way--
When it took so much courage for me even to tell you how I felt,
When it scared me because I didn't know what you would think, or what you would say, or how you would react.
When I put myself out there, vulnerable, and said "Here you may have me if you want"
You wanted to spare my feelings, but if you had been woman enough to be honest
You would have spared me the greater hurt of being ignored by my ignorance.
I could've taken that. I could've taken anything better than this cold dagger in my soul.
The realization that liars make the unkindest cuts of all, and there's no mending it.
So, now you want to know? Well, I have nothing left to say!

It seems my rainbows always fade away when the sun shines too long where I play.
Then clouds roll in where love once was alive, and it makes me so lonely and empty inside.
They say time is a healer, that it changes things.
I say it destroys mountains, brings death to kings.
but when shared with someone who loves you deep in their heart,
It can create a bond, that nothing can part.
I dreamed of someone, very much like you, She didn't toy with my feelings and her love was true.
When you care for someone, they can bring the worst pain,
or they can become your rainbow after the storm.

Remember that day I borrowed your brand new "used car" and dented it?

And do you remember the time I spilled that strawberry malt all over your car's rug?

And remember the time I forgot to tell you the dance was formal and you showed up in jeans?

Yeah there were a lot of things you didn't do, but you put up with me, you protected me,

Love's Illusion
Sometimes I sit alone and wonder, why I waited for you for so long.
I listen to the lightening and the thunder, and think of all the good times that went wrong.
But tonight it's not you that I think of. It's wondering if I could love again.
I see my friends and all the love they're made of, and I wish that I could find the perfect man.
It's like the song has always said, I'm wishing on someone else's star.
I guess that it's seeing just how lucky, all my friends and other people are.
My mind wanders back to you and me, and I want to start all over again with you.
But I shake my head to clear it and I see, that any love we have will never be true.
And so I go on waiting for the day, I find someone to share a bit of heart,
To love, and hold, and care for in a way, that you could never do right from the start.
