Letter
from the Boulder Alumnae President
How quickly the summer is coming to an end. There are already “Back to School” displays in the Mall, and I am thinking ahead to the coming year for our alumnae group. It seems like it was just a few weeks ago that we were wrapping up the end of last year at our wonderful Senior Dinner, which is a favorite of mine. As I looked at the graduating Phi seniors, I was reminded of my own college graduation. Soon after leaving college I moved to Boston. I barely knew anyone, so I thought I’d contact the DG alum chapter there to meet some new people. I was surprised and excited to learn that the current President of the alum chapter was a graduate of my own collegiate chapter. She opened up the doors of DG life as an alumna to me. Because of her, I wasn’t nervous to go to my first alum meeting. I know not everyone has the same experience joining a new group, but I have heard some wonderful stories of how Delta Gamma has enriched many of our lives over the years.
With that in mind, we have lots of fun events planned this year. We are focusing on Foundation this year, starting off with a Foundation Awareness dinner, a trip to Radio Reading Service of the Rockies, a tour of the Anchor Center in Denver, and fundraising for Foundation. Hopefully you will find events that will pique your interest and urge you to attend. You never know whom you’ll meet at the next DG meeting. It could be the new friend that you have much in common with, or the dear friend you haven’t seen in years. I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the coming months.
In
the bonds,
Amanda
