So I update this page when I come across some day to day situation that I want to share with friends.
For a long time I've been contemplating trying to sell my pictures and make a little money on the side. (would be wonderful if it could replace my day job! :-) ).
So I'm put together about 20 of my favorite artsy photos that I been slowly trying to put accumulate to form an initial portfolio. Once I have enough, I want to try selling them in local coffee shops (esp. in the Robson St. tourist area) where visitors might want a nice picture to remember their visit to Vancouver.
Another idea that has been suggested to me is to try selling "art cards", my photos on blank greeting cards for people who like to send pretty postcards/letters.
So I made up a portfolio binder and am got some blown up so people can see how they would look hanging on a wall. I didn't expect to sell anything since people at work know me as a developer, not as an "artist" so I was pleasantly surprised when a couple of people bought stuff. I got lots of encouraging comments as well.
Here you see some small versions of some of the images I am trying to sell. Each will be limited to 100 reprints and then the original will be destroyed. So if you would like to order one let me know ... you never know, it may someday be worth something ... or at least I think they are nice to look at.
