They were walking the streets recently voicing concerns over globalization policies, etc. Though since we are more removed from the summit, there were a lot of provincial politics mixed in with the demonstartions as well.
Some of these images were taken from my office window as they blocked traffic on their way to protest in front of the American Embassy branch just down the street from me. The street shots are a little blurry because I was shooting through glass and also at extreme range of the digital zoom on my camera.
Others were taken during a walkabout, where they were protesting at the VAG. That was amusing to me, vehement protests on the south side of VAG, while only a few hundred feet away the duMaurier International Jazz Festival was going on the north side! I had to snap the VAG photos quickly since protesters have been known to attack people with cameras!
