For me, I find myself in these last few years wanting to "rattle the bars on my cage of existance". When I look at a graveyard, I find myself thinking about all those people who lived lives, knew friends, loved, hated, and yearned for happiness. Now they lie rotting in the ground and all that marks the fact that they were ever on this earth is a small piece of stone.
I don't remember where I read it, but I remember reading that as long as you are in the hearts and minds of people you never truly die. I kinda like that sentiment. When I'm gone, I want people to have known I was alive. Oh, memory of me may be extinguished within a generation or so, but my hope is to make some sort of difference in the lives of others. That their lives are somehow different (in a positive way!) for having gotten a chance to know me.
And besides, I just like hearing day to day chit-chat with people from around the world.
