The DFW Colony is pleased to announce the following officers for the 2007-2009 term:

The DFW Colony met April 22, 2007, at the home of Jean De Schweinitz. Luncheon was provided by the colony officers. Governor Barbara Chesney reported on the Texas Society 2007 Annual meeting in Round Rock. The Officer and Committee reports triggerred a lively discussion about the issues of teaching American Heritage in public schools.

Recommendations were made to the new officers to invest a significant portion of the Colony�s funds in CDs, and to provide additional Silver books to the Arlington Public Library.

The proposed slate of officers was presented and they were elected by acclimation. The new officers were installed by Hallie Garner. Deputy Governor Mike Nichols outlined our program of emphasis at this meeting. Our major project will be to reach out for more members. We are organizing membership teams by ancestor and will have some "friendly competition" between the teams. A team captain will be recruited for each ancestor team. We are also developing a "Reason to Belong" flyer for use by the teams with new prospects.

We are also reviewing the officers job descriptions. The DFW Colony will have its Annual Compact Day meeting on November 17, 2007, at the Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas.
