"This recording has been run into a real-time audio analyzer. An RTA reveals frequencies that are lacking or those that exceed limitations. That information is programmed into a digital graphic EQ via PC to attempt to render the recording 'flat'; each frequency well-represented. Such a result will give the end-listener more control in own personal EQ preference upon playback.
(1) The pitch has been accelerated to A440, thus total recording time has shortened.
(2) The quality of the source varies so the EQ curve was based upon what the RTA reported for
'Bad Boy' which was the best sounding song from the source tape.
(3) Stereo spread to liven up the mono recording.
(4) The Drum Solo now resides on a seperate track."

"RTAs are mainly used in band applications during live gigs. Imagine a box that looks kinda like a graphic EQ, except there is a series of LEDs on the front in place of sliders for each frequency band. The LEDs show which frequencies are most dominant in the mix. If you pump white noise through the PA with a mic in the "sweet spot" of the room you're playing in, and pump the signal back through the RTA, it can be very helpful in eliminating the natural feedback frequencies of the room. This helps a lot if you have a really hot mic in a small room."
