Responsibilitys of owning a Therapy dog,             And is it right for YOU?!
Owning a Therapy dog is alot of work, for you and your dog. Therapy dogs are to help the ones that usually dont smile, or the children that cant move but will when they see the dog, it isnt for the money. You have to love the people to love the work. Therapy dogs need to be up to date in shots, alterd and groomed properly. People that are sick can spread germs to the animal, or animal can spread germs to the people so they have to be healthy and clean. Training a Therapy dog is hard too, you have to have the patiance and understanding, you need to have the time to take them places for socializing, and time to take them to obedence class. For you on the other hand, if you dont like seeing the sick people in nurseing homes, or the elderly then please dont go its hard enough as it is.  Sometimes you are one on one with the person and somtimes with the group your with so you need to know how to start conversations and how to talk to your dog to do what that person wants.  If this is somthing you want to do contact your local Therapy dogs group in you city or state to be part of that, or start your own.
