| My sport 40 design is where it all started. With only a couple years of model boating under my belt, I decided to take what I learned from other boat designs and create my own. The plans and construction article were first published in the premier issue of US Boat & Ship Modeler magazine. Racers who wanted to build there boats from scratch quickly took to my plans, and there have been probably hundreds of boats built from it. As any good designer and builder would do, I improved my design over the years to what was in my opinion the best performing hull available. Unfortunately I dropped out of the hobby in 1994 before I was able to test my latest design. The plans were drawn up, a hull was built, and that's as far as I got, I don't even have pictures. I sold the boat and never heard from the new owner. |
